As long as the kids are well fed, well cared for, and not abused or neglected in any way, then you have nothing to worry about.

If it's the cost of the activity that is keeping you from signing your kids up, then ask him to pay for it since it seems to be so important to him.

If it's some other reason, explain it. Scheduling problems? Maybe he can help. If it's just you not wanting the extra hassle, then maybe you should reconsider. Extra-curricular activities are good for kids, and you might be surprised at how much it benefits the whole family.

Not really, but if you have joint custody he also has the right to sign your kids up for something. Kids that are involved in sports, or some other activity are less likely to end up getting involved in drugs, or gang activity. Don't punish your kids just because you want to spite your EX.

what do you mean? IF you have your kids and are the one looking after them on a full time basis, then it is your choice if they do activities or not, if you share custody and he/she has equal rights you have to discuss it and come up with a solution. i hope that is what you were talking about, question didn;t give to much away.

It all depends.

If you constantly refuse to allow your kids to do anything, and it has nothing to do with finances, then he may be able to challenge your fitness as a parent. It it's "I don't want my son to be exposed to Muslims," or "I don't want my daughter to ever leave my side," or "The voice in my head told be my kids will die if they do anything South of Main St," or "Kids should not be allowed to have fun," then you could be in for some problems.

If it's something more like "My son wants to play football, but I feel it's too dangerous," or "My son wants to ride rodeo, but I don't believe in abusing animals," or "My daughter wants to take scuba diving but she's severely asthmatic," then that's another matter. It's more your call.

I doubt it, but why not? Giving your kids an activity to be involved in will benefit them in a variety of ways.
