She might be playing or reading doing whatever and she starts bleeding, I am going to take her to the Doctor tomorrow. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks a lot.

If you are taking her to the doctor, don't be asking people on here. You can't rely on the advice from a bunch of perfect strangers for something like this. Plus, you may get freaked out for no reason!

Good luck to you!

Matthew? You could claim to be the pope on here. This site isn't a safe place to get advice for something that is serious...especially when it comes to medical problems. I understand after being diagnosed with something, someone may want to hear other people's stories and stuff like that, but to get advice before seeing a physician - IN PERSON - is a bad plan. It doesn't matter what or who you say you are...there's no proof! You can give links if you like, too. I'm not stupid enough to ever click on any of them. Never know what you're getting yourself into when you do that!

jscangel? I was just talking to a friend of mine, and she had the exact problem that you were describing. Too much iron...she got bloody noses fairly frequently - out of the blue.

I work in Pediatrics and can answer this question, Beth. Lots of parents come in complaining of their child's nose bleed. Good responses here. Unless there is a family history of some blood disorder, it's probably because of the low humidity or a child picking their nose. We call it trauma. Definitely get a humidifier and place it by her side at night. Buy some nasal saline spray and use it a couple times a day. Be sure that she is practicing good technique in clotting the nose. Lean over while sitting and pinch the movable part of the bridge of the nose until it stops. If it's less than 10 minutes then they should be fine. Make sure that they're drinking plenty of water or other liquids with electrolytes to balance the system. There you have it. Don't worry about it. Her doctor will tell her the same. You'd be amazed at the yards of canals in the nose. And make sure she doesn't pick her nose. Let me know if you have any questions. And contact me at anytime.

i had alot of nose bleeds as a child. sometimes it can be from dry air or possibly just from growing. it seemed like i'd get them more when i had a growth spurt. is she getting head aches too? I wouldn't worry unless there are other symptoms.
I remember a family member died and I cried alot for a few days and i'd get a few nose bleeds out of no where that lasted almost 10 minutes sometimes..probably from blowing my nose so much.
i remember when i was about ten i was showering and had a tickle under my nose and i blew some air out of my mouth to try to get rid of it and blood flew everywhere in the shower.

There could be several factors as to why her nose is bleeding a lot. Being a girl of her age, I'd go ahead and make her an appointment with her doctor just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Some causes are excessive picking or rubbing, a foreign object in nose, excessively dry air, or a small hemangioma. Do you notice any other bleeding from other sites or unusual bruising?

It's probably dry air. I had them a lot when I was little. The Dr. can actually fix it so she wont have them anymore right in his office. He sticks something up the nose but it HURTS like crazy. Good luck!

Sometimes the air is too dry and this causes the problem. My son always had a bloody nose in the winter. We put a vaporizer in the house and it stopped... I hope this is the problem with your daughter

My youngest daughter and youngest son also had this problem.
Their noses get too dry and the little blood vessels break.
I am sure the doctor will tell you to get moisture in the air.

Could be a problem with allergies, I had the same thing when I was a little kid. Just start bleeding for no apparent reason.
