OK... I am just over 38 weeks pregnant and last time I went to the Dr I was about 60% effaced... but not dialated... so I decided that I need to go for more walks in hope of dialating... so I went for a walk yesterday and was soon after was expereiencing contractions.... (not timely) so I took it easy for the rest of the night.... and then late last night I had sharp shooting pains in my lower back/ pelvic area that shot straight through my leg.... it continuously throbbed with occasional sharp pains.... any suggestions?

What does this mean? Am I starting to dialate? Is labor soon?

My boyfriend and I were talking about having sex and we're still pretty young and definatly want to keep away from getting pregnant. If we have sex of course we'll be using a condom but even though, condoms aren't always 100% affective. I was wondering if there was a time that is best to have sex during/between cycles that will limit the chances of pregnancy.

My husband and I are thinking about getting pregnant but we need to see a doctor first to see if we even can. I'm am a little scared as i have no idea how a women get tested for that. I know that men just squirt in a cup...but for women does it hurt? what do they do?

I have a 12 yr old boy and it has been years since I got an allowance and I have no idea what is an ideal amount to give our boy for allowance. He does lots of chorse but some of the chorse my husband gives him are hard labour so alot of the time he will just pay him a certin amount. but my question is for his everyday chorse...like doing the dishes and taking out the garbage. What would be fair amount in this day and age.

Could someone please kindly help me?
Im 25 years old and Caucasion. My husband is 27 and Latino. Are there more risks with having a baby if it is interracial?
Also how can I prepare for pregnancy? I am so scared that I am not oging ot have a healthy child. I used to work in the health cre field and you see so much wrong. I just want to do everything possible to help have a healthy child and a healthy pregnancy. Any tips or advice? We plan to start trying maybe this December. Thanks! I just read that if you eat/drink alot of dairy before you are pregnant you are most likely to have a girl. And if you crave dairy while pregnant it will mean it's a girl. Has that happened to any of you?
Also if you eat alot of meat and potatoes you are more likely to conceive a boy? And if you crave meat and potatoes while pregnant its most likely a boy?

My baby hair is thinning all over his head, not to mention the big half dollar sized bald spot on the back of his head where he laid so much I guess it all just rubbed off..... but how come the rest of his hair is thinning? Is he not getting enough nutrition? Is this a bad sign? Could it be linked to cancer? He is only 6 months....is it normal for his head all over to be thinning? Its not bald but just thinning, anything he lays on his hair is all over it, please help?

I am dilated 2 centimeters, 80% effaced, baby is at a -1 station. Had contractions on Friday morning at 17 mins apart and got to 12 mins apart. Thankfully was able to get some sleep. Since then I have been more uncomfortable than I have ever been in my life. I can barely get out of bed without being in excruciating pain. I can hardly walk at all. And I am having cramps worse than any period I have ever had. Contractions right now are not on a set pattern. I was just wondering is all of this miserablness normal? I have not felt this terrible ever.

Lost mucous plug a week and a half ago.

Have had several bowel movements this morning already.

I have been feeling nauseous for the past 3 days. If I am pregnant the earliest I have had sex was a week and a few days ago. I know normally people would probably say it's too early for a pregnancy test, but because I am so nauseous and it may be morning sickness, would a test be accurate?

I just recently found out Im with pregnant( 5 weeks), I had all of the symptoms, frequent urinating, breast swelling,nausea, fatigue.. the whole nine. Last night, I had some light cramping in my belly, then I realized that I hadnt been tired the whole day. Or nauseus, or very hungry like I had been. I s it possible for your body not to have symptoms some days when your pregnant? My doc wont see me till im 8-10 weeks. Maybe Im trippin... I just feel ..... not pregnant anymore

i really need to know what yall think about this. ok, so i have gotten quite a few sonograms and all of them said sept. 18th or 20th for my due date. so i think that makes my conception date around the 26th of dec. (right?) but i am 37 weeks and the past few times i have gotten a sonogram he said that the baby looks big, but didnt change my due date. what is the most accurate time to set a due date... by the way, my conception date is REALLY important in figuring out who the father is. but when i went to the doctor i am measuring fine, not big and not small. your thoughts please... so i need to know if i am just freaking out or what.

I have a 4-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. They enjoy baths together and it saves me time, but I was wondering what age we should start bathing them separately. What have other parents found worked best? My boy and girl "notice each other" and are sometimes curious but nothing beyond that. Is it ok?
