There are many infertility tests for the woman. It starts with a PAP to make sure everything is ok there. Then they will do blood work to check your hormone levels. If the Dr doesnt see anything wrong there, then he/she will recommend more tests. Your Dr. will do an ultrasound (vaginal) to make sure that you have all of your reproductive organs. After that they will do an HSG test to make sure that your fallopian tubes are not blocked.

I do not know what's next, I quit going when I was told to have the HSG done. That was a few months ago...nothing I experienced hurt physiallly, but it was emotionally taxing to go to the dr twice a week to be poked and prodded...by myself. See if your husband will go with you for emotional support. I wish you the best.

You don't actually need a test to have a baby unless you have a history of abdominal deformity, massive surgery, trauma or infection. It is a good idea to have a pelvic to be sure nothing bad is going on anywhere, that should be fixed or treated before pregnancy.
The recommendation is to try for conception for one year [ if under thirty ], and then see a GYN; or six months if over thirty.

It's just a pap smear. They really just look in ther and maybe feel around a little, and take a pap. Jus tot make sure everything's normal!
