Pregnancy & Parenting - 28 August 2007

My four year old son often throws horrible tantrums over the smallest things. About 90% of the time it's when he is told "no". We punish him by putting him in his room and not letting him come out until he has calmed down. But it seems like we have to do this all the time and for extended amounts of time. His doctor said its the time honored way of disipline. He also has a lot of developmental delays. He doesn't have the language skills of a 4 year old. It's more like the level of a 2 year old. Does anyone else have a child who has problems like this?

How long should I wait before traveling out of state by car with my newborn? I am in the middle of moving and will wait if I need to, but plan to go ahead and leave after discharge if safe.

My daughter is 11 months old and has always been a great sleeper, she sleeps around 12 hours an night without waking, and up until recently made no fuss about going to bed, I've always put her down awake and she puts herself to sleep.
But the last 4 nights, when I put her in her cot, she starts screaming and crying, and really gets herself into a state. I tried just leaving her to it last night, but she cried on and off for half an hour so I went in, calmed her down and cuddled her then put her down again, that time she cried for about 15 mins then went to sleep.
Its really breaking my heart hearing her cry like that, and the strange thing is, she doesn't do it during her daytime naps, they're not a problem at all.
Has anyone else had this happen? Any advice?

Hello.. well, my wife is due in about a month.. we are having trouble on names...The sex of the baby will be a surprise.. We have our girl names and our boy names..that we both like.. and then there are HER names that she is still fighting for... Tell me which ones you like the best. Basically, the author outlines how the birth control Pill causes abortions. He cites several resources, including patient handouts from the Pill. I am certainly not looking to argue with anyone, but I would love others opinions on this matter.
Does taking the Pill cause early abortions/miscarriages?

It's now been 9 weeks since my miscarriage and I still have had no period. Did hpt about 4 weeks ago now first one came up neg so I did 2 more a week later and both came up positive. Went for blood test which showed hcg levels at only 40. My doc said it's prob left over hormones from previous pregnancy but her response was "oh" when I told her about the positive tests I had done. She wants me to come in so she can examine me but she seems confused!. No d&c was required as I miscarried at 12 weeks and there was only a 5 week yolk sac. I am curious how long it took you to get your period back after a miscarriage?

HELP!!! My 18 month old absolutely hates his crib. We beleive he has a fear of it because for the past 2 months, he screams and screams until he vomits everytime we put him in there. There is no crying it out with this child....trust me we have tried. So, my husband and I have been taking turns sleeping on the sofa with him. On top of that, he doesn't sleep thru the night. he is up between 1:30-2:30am everyn night. We are going out of our minds. HELP!!!!! Thanks

a few months back i jsut grew tired of my mustache which was a peach fuzz and shaved it all off. Then i thought it was horrible nd kinda grew to like it eventually. Then i shaved it off again. However, all my friends who didnt shave have nice looking full mustaches (were pakistani) that are neat and clean looking. Me on the other hand still has a peach fuzz... The peach fuzz looks horrible on me but everytime i shave it grows back faster. First mustache took me 14 years to grow and i shaved it, it grw back to its original size in 3-4 months... then i shaved it and now its back in a month. But i really regret shaving it off and i wanna fully grow it but i look so ******* UGLY AS **** with it but cute and handsome witout it (acknowledged by girls) nd i think if it was full it wud be nice but wat shud i do??

BTW my peach fuzz grows all over the place and i just want neat but if i shape it look messed upbecuz its only a peach fuzz...

I could go into labor anytime (the doc says). Im 2 cm dilated and I was wondering about how much you think the baby could weigh and about how long do you think the baby will have to stay in the hospital? I know its different with everyone, Im just looking for your opinion. Thanks Everyone!

My boyfriend and I just had our son almost 3 months ago
and havent been using protection
I dont like pills or shots
and he doesnt like condoms sooooo we are using the pull out method which i know isnt really that good way to not get pregnant again but I have gotten my period
so I was just wondering if anyone out there didnt use protection after having a baby and got pregnant fast after or it still took a long time to get pregnant again?

he has put her on prune juice, stage 1 veggies, KARO syrup and stool softners..nothing seems to help!!! I want to cry when I see her having a bowel movement....I can tell she is having such a hard time... ..even now, I am starting to see blood when she is finished.....her anus is tearing!

I like the name Madalana (prounounced mad-uh-lane-uh) I think it is cute and it is different then just madeline she could be called madalana, madlyn for short or maddy or lana. I think it is versatile and cute, but not as common as madeline, even though its similar.
