They have been in school for 2 weeks. And yesterday my teenage (14) daughter came home distraught. The previous week we stayed up and I helped her with a homework project. She is such a perfectionist that sometimes it is hard for her to mange her time.

Apparently, the teacher thought that my daughter plagiarized her project. The teacher called my daughter up to the front of the class (right in front of her peers) and started asking her questions like and demanding answers (the "truth"), "did she steal the idea off of the internet," and that "there is no way you know any of these words."

My daughter stood there, her face turning red and told her the truth, that she didn't steal it and she worked hard and did it herself. The teacher made a face like she didn't believe her. This was devistating to her... she works so hard to gain the respect of her teachers and her peers.

My daughter has a 4.3 GPT. Post highschool SAT scores for reading. What would you do?

My sisters new girl isn't phased by loud noises and she think she is deaf. I have heard her cry and seen her get startled when someone sneezed. She is going to take her to the doctors to find out for sure but i would like to find out for myself.

7 year old just started school on Monday, and when I picked him up the teacher already had a list of complaints! We need to work on keeping our hands to ourselves, and not speaking out of turn, we also need to work on joining the group every once in awhile. It's the first week of school, its first grade! The FIRST day-- he looked so sad, he said he had to turn his card three times and he didnt know why-- I went back in and asked the teacher why and that's what she told me! What am I going to do? I assume its just going to get worse. AM I being oversensitive? I just felt kind of overwhelmed that his teacher had nothing good to say to him, or me on the first day! Already a list of bad things! It just broke my heart to see him so sad and already dreading school this morning.... what to do??

I spend 2 hours daily on my hair( drying and straightening), 10 mins on makeup except on school days were i spend less so it looks more sutle and 20 mins sometime picking clothes and on the school day ages getting my uniform right. I also love to look at myself in anything that reflects.
I am a 14 year old female so does this have anything to do with why i cant stop doing this?

Ok I am 34 weeks and 2 days and the baby has dropped already. I mean you can tell that she is lower. Also I have been feeling pressure in my pelvic area. What are your opinions? Could labor be close? I go to the doctor tomorrow.

I'm putting together a program that we hope will encourage volunteers in our elementary school. We really want to let everyone know that *any* amount of time they give over the year is important, useful & valuable. We want to try to overcome the common complaint we hear from busy parents (aren't we all!) that they don't have time to help in the school.

So, we've rounded up some prizes (overnight hotel stay, dinner gift certificates, massage, moon jump rental...) & will raffle them off. Over the year, volunteers will earn a raffle ticket for each hour that they help the school in any way - classroom help, baking, attending PTO meetings, planning & staffing events, helping their child with fundraisers, helping the teacher after school, working in the library...

I want to come up with a slogan & name for this whole thing. Something along the lines of 'Every minute matters' or 'You make this a great school'. Anything besides 'Volunteer Appreciation Raffle'. Any ideas?

My son cries, if i'm not holding him, he will cry until I pick him up, its hard to do any house work or cook. when i leave he gets upset . I love him so much, he's only six months. so I don't think you can spoil a baby. what do you think? my husband tells me too let him cry and don't cater to every little thing. But thats too me is awful, this is his way of saying something wrong.

I am possibly 2 weeks pregnant...(Hard to keep track when hubby & I are having sex constantly)...Has anyone taken a home pregnancy test and gotten a faint line ? Should I take that as a positive test or should I disregard it? Did your test have a faint line and you were pregnant? I have taken 4 test, 3 different kinds and 3 of them had a faint line and 1 of them had nothing at all. Give me your results and how far along you were when you took the test

I had the HCG injections on 8/17 and IUI on 8/19. TTC for almost six years and this is my first month on Clomid and the HCG. Trying not to get my hopes up too high, but it's hard not to. I am having some signs of pregnancy, but I'm not sure if it's still the HCG injections. HPT scheduled for 9/4.

hospital delivery or home delivery(mid-wife)? I just want to get opinions on this. Do you think it is dangerous for home delivery? Would you rather have doctors in a hospital setting in case an emergency happens with your baby or you, wife, etc.? I am writing a paper on this.

Here is the situation - I calculated that I'd ovulate between the 29th & the 2nd of September. BUT on Monday I was "wet" with cervical mucus, and I am today. Did I ovulate early ?? I have normal cycles every 28 days, I ovulate every 14 days. I have been tracking my periods now for almost a year, just to be prepared for "conception." We are going to try for our first month, this week. I'm so excited. I had my period on August 18th, So I should be calculating this right ... I'll ovulate anywhere between the Aug 29th, & Sept 2nd ... Is this correct ?? I didn't miss ovulation this month did I ??

I was 4 days late for my period and finally started, but I only bled for 2 days light when I usually bleed for 7 to 8 days very heavy. Could I possibly be pregnant? I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 yrs. I've never used any type of birth control or protection. I did experience nausea and fatigue before I started. Although I took a pregancy test and it came back negative. This is driving me crazy. I've had 2 kids before and never had this happen.

It is very important to me that my child be happy, healthy and successful. I see so many parents that don't focus on education. My husband and I each have masters degree, yet education was not stressed in home (I have GREAT parents..just weren't of that generation, paid for college, supported it, but weren't up on our grades and stuff).

How can I help my child succeed? What did you do to instill a work ethic (my parents did that)? How do you teach time management and the importance of school?

Also, what kinds of things can I do to prep the way for college as years go by? Any programs out there to work on at home?

In case you can't tell, my little man goes of to the big K next week....he did great in preschool!

My girlfriend is 8 1/2 months pregnant and we are getting married soon. She says the baby keeps popping his head out, smiling, and then goes back inside. I know that mothers can feel their babies moving inside the womb but I've never heard of this before? It sound very strange.

I recently asked a question about making a law banning smoking in homes with children and was appalled to get so many smokers worried about their rights. Do they not have TV, internet, newspapers? All the facts are out there. Do they really think they can sit there and not agree that smoking causes so many serious conditions in everyone most importantly children that can’t escape it? It makes me sick to my stomached to have to give children breathing treatments everyday and know that the parent is smoking in the home knowingly doing this to their children and I’m suppose to mind my own business? I don’t get it. I would love to here a real answer and not a selfish, immature answer about America is a “free” country. Free for whom? Not these kids that can’t tell us we are killing them by exposing them to smoke day after day. Please explain to me how this is not child abuse?
