My girlfriend is 8 1/2 months pregnant and we are getting married soon. She says the baby keeps popping his head out, smiling, and then goes back inside. I know that mothers can feel their babies moving inside the womb but I've never heard of this before? It sound very strange.

hahaha uh im sure this is just a joke. There is no way baby can pop his head out and smile. u can definately feel the movements but you DON'T really know what the baby is doing inside there...unless she has some magic power and can see through her belly.

Wow thats a new one. Its physically impossible for the baby to pop its head out and then go back in. That would consitute labor. And if she's in labor the baby will come all the way out. Plus newborns lack the muscle capacity to control their movements like that. Haven't you ever seen a newborn? They can't even support their own heads. You're girlfriend sure has an active imagination. And she's a liar.

I know people say little babies can't have a sense of humor but I really don't believe that....I think he has one! I think he knows what gets your attention and your smiles and he does what works for him. Sounds like you've got a cute little smart one on your hands!

First of all just let us know if you are serious...if you are are then get more info from your partner...obviously it would be impossible for this to happen but if she is serious and thinks this has happened then you will need to get her seen to...it might not be safe to bring a baby into the world when the mother needs urgent help...if you are joking then yeah good one mate...its hard to know sometimes on this cos people do ask funny questions!!

There is no possible way that could happen. Maybe she is joking! There is no way to feel the baby smiling and it would not be popping it's head in and out.
Weird. Let's hope she's joking.

Oh yeah it happens. My baby came out with a mouthful of teeth and carrying a tube of Crest toothpaste. He apparently had signed on with the company in utero and is now doing commercials.
Your gf is either joking or you are. Babies don't pop out to smile and crawl back in.

This is a bit odd. The baby cannot coem out and smile and go back in and hide. Maybe ask her what she means by this.

She is experiencing some hallucination mental health issues.
You should get her help ASAP, especially for the sake of your baby.
And the answer is NO, babies don't come out and go back in during pregnancy. Once they're out, they're out for good.

*laughs* I felt that way at the end of my twins, but I kept swearing Alaina had stuffed her foot out down there and was kicking me.
While your baby's capable of smiling, the whole wide world would know if he had popped his head out. Relax.
