I used to spend that long getting ready for dates when I was younger. Now I can shower, do hair, and make-up in less than one hour.

Maybe, but if you don't learn to do your hair in 15 to 20 minutes instead of 2 hours and pick out your clothes in 5 or less, you're going to be up all night most of your life once you get out of school and are a working girl or even an at home mom.... There are a lot of other more constructive things you could be doing with your time and people just don't care if there's a speck of dust on your uniform...

Is there a cute boy in your school you want to impress? This is normal for teens to want to be clean and well dressed. You are normal. Dont worry about it. You may be this way until after you have reached old age. When people get older, looks dont mean so much to them, just as long as they look presentable to the rest of the world. I am not there ( old age ) yet, but I see how the older generation looks. They look ok without makeup. But you are young yet. Enjoy all this primping. Just dont tie up the bathroom too long. :)

Well 2 hours is a little excessive on just your hair. However, it's part of growing up and getting used to yourself. I used to spend more time on myself but the more you do it the quicker you become at it. Everyone looks at themselves in mirrors and things. So you have nothing to worry about. And so what if you like to look nice...so long as it's not an annoyance and inconvenience to those you live with.

it's a teen thing. i'm the same and i'm 16, it'll only get worse as you get older in your teens lol. my hair is quite short though, and with my GHD's it only takes me around 40 mins to do my hair, an hour if i want to style it and get it right. make-up. well it depends. i rarely wear it anyway, my eczema reactes REALLY bad to it, but when i do wear it, it takes me around 20 mins and 30 mins picking out clothes and getting dressed.
i have a cousin who's 21 and she spends 5 hours!!! getting ready in a morning, and she won't leave the house for work or anything without reapplying some make-up and making sure her hair is perfect. her boyfriend finds it amusing though

Haha! Thats the total opposite of me, i spend about 2 minutes on my hair, same on makeup, and i just grab whatever is in front of me in the wardrobe!
Its probably nothing to do with your age, and if you continue it will be a habit you take through your life with you.
I mean... add it all up, 14hours a week on hair!! 56hours a month! Thats ages!
If this is something you want to stop then try and spend half the time you normally do doing all those things, if your ok with it then fine... just continue!

It's a little vain, but also you're starting to try and figure out who you REALLY are, and appearance is a big part of that.
2 hours on hair is a bit much though. Once you pick a look, try and cut it down to 15 minutes, k?

The time spent on your make-up is ok. The time spent on your hair is an excessive amount of time. Maybe you could get your hair straightened at a salon so you don't have to do it every day yourself. I never looked at myself all the time when I was that age. That could decrease as you get older and have more confidence in yourself.

lol! I think it's normal! Well it's way better than being all nasty and not care about how you look! I think it's good to "groom" yourself. But just don't take it to extremes! I mean I'm a guy and I take a long time to get ready for school! And I also look at myself in the mirror a lot! So ithink it's normal!

Your a teenager, that is all that there is to it. You will get over it believe me. You will get to the point where you won't spend half that time getting ready in the morning. I mean look at it this way, if you cut everything down to half the time that its taking you now, look how much later you could get up in the morning before having to be to school.
IT takes you TWO hours to do your hair???? That would drive me insane. lol I bow to you for that...... :-)
I don't really have any advise for you, sorry. but, do know that it will change when you get older, I promise. :-)
