Gosh I was never expecting this in my first pregnancy. To be woken up at 4-5 In the morning with really bad pains in my calf muscles. I'm nearly 22 weeks gone. Any one know of anything good to try and get rid of them. I've been to the quacks and he was useless! Any ways I've elevated my legs up, eaten lots of bananas, drunk loads of milk and water.

Any other suggestions which might work? Anyone else suffering with these cramps?

All the books and experts seem to say that the average 5-month old baby needs about 14 hours of sleep per day. My 5-month daughter will only sleep 12 hours per day, no matter what I do. (She sleeps 3 hours of naps and 9 hours at night). Also, she acts sleepy (rubbing her eyes, yawning, fussing) all day long - even within only an hour of waking up from a nap. Is it normal for her to act tired all the time? I try to make her nap more often but she fights it, and if I try to put her to bed earlier she just wakes up earlier and won't go back to sleep.

Right now this is her sleep schedule: 5am, wake up for day. 9-10:30am first nap. 2:30-4pm second nap. 8pm bedtime.

I hate seeing her so tired and trying to keep her going for 4 hours between sleeps, but if I put her down after 3 hours she will fight the nap for another hour anyway.

Any suggestions?

I was reading this article on Y! and just had a though and wanted to see if anyone agrees....

Why do these "healthy kids" activists always go after fast food companies but you never hear about them confronting TV or video game makers. Are kids really getting too much fast food or not enough exercise??
I feel it's a mixture of both. I think the fast food that their mom has to pick up on her way home from work wouldn't be so harmful if kids (and adults for that matter) got some exercise instead of spending all day in front of the TV or game system.

What do you think??

Where did i state that i wanted to give my baby up for adoption or asked if you thought i should?my question was mearly to ask how i can get through being ill for one reason or another for the last 4 months not that i dont want my baby. I made the decision to keep my baby because i already loved the little life in side of me from the moment i found out i was pregnant and my love has grown more and more every day.Where did you get the idea that i didnt want my baby? My partner left me for his own reasons and i have moved on, its me and my baby now and no one will take that bond away from me.
Where the hell in any of my story did you think that i would not want to keep my little one?what is wrong with you people?
Thank you to the other people who have answered, for the people that asked i am 23 years old.

Where in Atlanta can you use daycare services on an as needed basis? I have a child that only needs to go to day care a few days a month. What reputable facility will babysit a child without a contract, weekly or monthly fee?

I went to the doctor, finally, after trying to tough out a horrible sinus infection. She asked me if I had talked to my OB and told her that they just connected me to a nurse who told me that I could take whatever I wanted as long as it didn't have codene in it. I rolled my eyes knowing what all of the books say and finally went to see this doctor a couple of days later when my head felt like it would explode.

ANYWAYS - I relayed to her that the nurse had told me I could take anything which I "knew" wasn't true because I can't take asprin or ibruprofen and she cut me off by saying that the nurse was correct, and that she thinks it's so funny how all of these pregnant women try to tell physicians what they can and cannot do when they're the ones who went to school for this. I was in too much pain to slap her (just kidding, just kidding), but I am just dumbfounded that NOW, being in my second pregnancy, I can just take whatever the heck I feel like. What's up?!

My son has has a normal fascination with things that blow-up and shoot. We try to temper this fascination with things like music lessons, and he and I belonging to the local rocketry club.

Last week, I drew the line at a 4 hour paintball outting with one of his friends and his friend's dad. There were many different ages involved at the paintball field (boys 11 up through college).

Is paintball too aggressive for an 11 year old? Or am I just being overconcerned?

Thanks!

I am quite aware that her behaviour is normal and age appropriate and that she is jealous of the baby and testing boundaries.

She'll hurt him and then say sorry and immediately do it again. I know that this is normal behaviour and that toddlers think it's funny for them to cause a baby to cry.

How do I make her understand that it is not acceptable and that it is sore. I have smacked her, put her in the naughty chair and corner, pinched her back, ignored it, punished her by taking toys away - nothing helps

I know she'll grow out of it and the phase will pass but I cannot have her hurting her brother.

Has anyone experienced this? What can I do?

Hi,me and my partner of 11yrs have been trying to concieve for 15 months. We decided to go to the doctor to have fertility tests as nothing was happening. We got our results on friday,my results were all ok but my partner had a low sperm count/low motility. Our doctor has now put in a referral for us to see fertility specialist and should take about 3 months.
Our doc said not to worry,as the first sperm analysis doesnt always give answers and as the semen were about 45 mins old when we handed them in...could give misleading results.Anyway just wanted to know what to expect when we see fertility specialist. What treatment we might be offered, has anyone had low motility and needed treatment.
My partner has read abit about how to improve it himself up until we see doctor ie.no hot baths, healthy eating and hes started taking co enzyme q10 what docs say can improve sperm motililty. Its would be nice to hear from people who have had to have fertility treatment.

My period would be due this week/next week and I keep having cramps like when I am due my period, however I am approx 7 weeks pregnant nearly 8 weeks therefore not sure if these cramps are normal. Can you get cramps like your period is going to start each month through pregnancy???? I had nausea up until yesterday and today I am just really bloated, constipated and very tired. I also keep feeling a little dizzy and still frequenlty needing to urinate. I am terrified of losing my baby. I have not had any bleeding or anything. I am probably overreacting but I do not know what to expect and each twinge or feeling has me panicing. I have an appointment with my midwife in a couple of days but just wanted to know if anyone else has had these cramps/symptoms??? Thanks
