Is Campbell a preppy name? My friend Hayley's brother's name is Campbell. Both of them say it is not preppy, but once again, I disagree, I think it is. What do you think?

The name Campbell is weird for a first name. I couldn't imagine naming my kid after a brand of soup.

I dont think that its preppy. But then again i just finished this book called my sisters keeper and campbell was the name of the lawyer, and he was anything but preppy.

Campbell is not preppy, but I think Brittany is a very preppy name

Campbell sounds preppy to me. Moreover, it sounds more like a last name than a first name. It also reminds me of the soup im sorry.

I don't think preppy so much as high class. It seems like a name that a family with a lot of money would use for their child.

One of my preppy friends was name Campbell and guess nickname that we made for him at work.....Soup.

I do not think it is preppy. I know several people with that name & have not thought of it as preppy.

well if you look at it's origin and meaning maybe that will help. in Latin or French it means beautiful field. in Scottish it means crooked mouth. hope that helps. but no i don't think it's preppy. maybe the girl is preppy. that could be the reasoning behind your thoughts.

It wouldn't be the name that's preppy it would be the person, your catagorizing names ... a person lives up to the name they are given ... by being themselves ... no predetermined lives ... just a name.
