Yes, this is very common. As long as the cramping isn't more painful than usual ( menstrual like). You are having any bleeding so that's good. The first 3 months of pregnancy aren't easy. You mentioned that you feel the need to urinate frequently. Do you have a UTI ( urinary tract infection).? Is this your first pregnancy??If so, you will be more focused on the symptoms that you are experiencing. Is the cramping more to one side than the other. Are you having any vaginal discharge?? Any fever, chills or sweats?? Back pain?? The best advice would be to call the Doc's office and speak with the Nurse so that she can gather information and make a decision based on your symptoms etc. I hope that this helps. Congrats.

You should try webmd.com to check a bit further...it helps. Your midwife will be able to tell you best what's going on, but if your cramping pain gets worse you should see if she can get you in sooner or don't hesitate to go to the hospital. You may also try calling her office and letting her know what's goin gon. I had a similar problem two years ago that ended up being an ectopic pregnancy and I had been bleeding internally which is why I didn't get my period. I lost half the blood in my body and almost died, you don't sound like you're quite that far yet, but if the pain gets worse....don't hesitate to go to the hospital. Don't get to scared yet though, I'd been cramping off and on for two weeks before it got that bad, you're appointment may be in good timing. Unfortunately I am going through this same dilemma again. Once you've had an ectopic, your chances of having another go way up. But the earlier you catch it, the better off it all will be.

Sometimes you can cramp during pregnancy, esp if it is around the same time each month. With my last pregnancy, I had light spotting the same time every month and it only happened for one bathroom trip and it was gone. As long as you are not experiencing any bleeding or the cramps are not extremely painful (like bending over in pain), then I wouldn't worry. Do you think you may have a UTI? That is very common during pregnancy, too and can cause frequent urination and dizziness. Any pain while urinating? You may want to see a doctor b/c if it is a UTI you need to be on anitbiotics as UTI's can cause you to go into labor. The doctor can give you meds that are safe for you to take....I have done that with just about all of my pregnancies.
Good luck!!

I am 6 1/2 weeks and I have had cramping. My doctor told me that as long as it doesnt stop you in your tracks or feel like someone is stabbing you that it is likely just your ligaments and uterus expanding. Basically, growing pains. I even had some brown discharge and he did the unltrasound and the baby grew from the week before so he seemed to think all was well. Bloated and tired are definitely symptoms. I know I have not gained baby weight and Ive been pretty conscious of what I am eating because I don't want to gain too much (Im chunky to begin with) but I feel very bloated.
Im sure all is well but just keep a journal of all of your symptoms and be sure to share them all with your midwife when you see her. Best of luck!

That was me to a T. We found out at 4 weeks I was pregnant, started having bad morning sickness at 5 weeks, at 7 weeks it tapered off to just very dizzy and tired all the time with cramps every now and then. Your baby is growing as well as your uterus. These cramps are the streching of your uterus and ligaments. Completely normal. Unless they are severe and accompanied with blood, then you are fine. I am 14 weeks now and since 7 weeks the tired dizzy feeling has slowly tapered off with a bad day every once in a while. Hopefully soon it will be gone for the second trimester. Congrats by the way!

I did that with my first pregnancy. I started cramping and thought I was going to start and after about the 3rd day of cramping I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. When I went to the doctor about it I found out that I was already 8 weeks pregnant. So I would say it will be fine and it will pass.

cramps should be fine as long as they are not painful, if they become painful your midwife should be contacted asap. all the other signs you are having are normal, you are going to feel alot of pains, and aches threw your pregnancy and you will have no idea what is going on, im in my second trimester and still worry, so the worry will never go away.
good luck and congrats

I believe it is normal to have some cramping as long as you don't have any bleeding with the cramps. If they become worse or you start to bleed call your midwife ASAP!!

If I were you, I wouldn't wait a couple of days. Pick up the phone and ask your question. I'm sure your midwife would be happy to help you. If it is something wrong, you can deal with it right away and if it's nothing, you can relax.
