As an experienced sonographer please don't go for a scan any sooner than 7-8 weeks. More often than not the results are equivocal and can cause unnecessary concern. Wait until there is something there that can be definitive one way or the other so that you can have one scan and be reassured instead of going so early that you have to have 2-3 repeat scans and then get to 10 weeks to have everything be fine and you will have worried for nothing and that can be all avoided....patience. waiting on the news is the first test of patience for becoming a mother and how you respond to that waiting period is a great indicator of how patient you will be as a parent. If you SUSPECT that you are pregnant than you need to treat yourself and your body as if you were pregnant until you can get confirmation. It's not going to hurt you or your body or your potential baby to eat healthier, drink more water and start your vitamins (especially folic acid), if you wind up not being pregnant than you haven't caused any harm to anyone and if you are pregnant you will have a great head start to a fit and healthy pregnancy

You can test at home. There is a 5 day before missed period test. I took that tho and it still didn't show up that I was pregnant. I don't thing I had enough of the hormone in my urine yet. Mine didn't show up until the 12th day of my missed period. But everyone's bodys are different. Keep testing once a week. You could even test every day but that would be very expensive. Try to save the test for the morning urine its supposed to be the best and have alot of the hormone in it. Good luck and god bless!

Just go to the drug store and get a home pregnancy test. They are very reliable. If it comes up positive then call the doctor to schedule your first prenatal visit. If you tell them you already had a positive test, they may not even do another urine test. If it comes back negative wait a week or two and if you still don't get your period then call and make an appointment to find out what is going on.

I'd take a home pregnancy test first. If that comes out positive, contact your doctor. They will probably want to see you and confirm the pregnancy. Then they will send you to an OB.

well if you haven't got your pieriod yet, and have many of the symptoms such as vommitting maybe, just morning sickness, not feeling well, perhaps swelling, i would get a pregnancy test and if it is positive, then go get a scanning just to be that much more sure!

You can start testing the first day of your missed period. If your period is irregular, some test say they can detect the pregnancy hormone just ten days after conception.

Go to the doctor for a blood/urine test they would be your most accurate test. otherwise by an early stream pregnancy test from your chemist.
