Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 July 2007

There is a lady in my neighborhood that I’m friends with. From time to time I go over to her house to catch up on the latest gossip and so forth. She is really strict with her kids. She makes go to bed at 8 pm. She makes them clean their plate when they eat and she is really strict with their school grades. She also corrects behavior that seems to be normal for a kid. More than once I had to wait as she brought them in the bedroom with a paddle in hand to spank them for something like being to loud. She gave them like two or three swats and stayed in there until they stopped crying.

Well last time I came over her oldest who is 7 was standing in the corner. I asked her what he did and she said he broke something playing in the house. Well I was over there for an hour and the whole time her child was in the corner. She told him a couple of times to face the wall. When I left he was crying softly and looked like he has to go to the bathroom.

I am 15 weeks pregnant. I know the best way to know is to see my doctor, but I can't until Monday and would like to know if anyone has experienced the same thing I am going through? I have had this weird feeling like something has been stuck in the back of my throat for the last 2 days, so I looked in the mirror and say my right tonsil enlarged and it has white pus on it. It doesn't hurt, but I looked at pictures online and it seems to be bacterial tonsilitis. I, also, read that doctors prescribe anitbiotics for this, but I have found nothing on what they do for pregnant women, and I would like to know if my baby is in any danger if I have to wait until Monday to see my doctor or if I should go to the E.R.? I am in no pain, but it's pretty annoying! What do you think they might do for me since I am pregnant?

do the midwifes or doctors at the hospital/clinic show u how 2 make the feed for ur baby or do u have 2 learn that else where? like for example so many spoonfuls of milk powder are for newborn with so much water?

right heres the prolem recently(yesterday) i started gettin pain at the groin area under the binkni line its really sore i know my pelvis tissue is softening because i have been 2 the physio therapist(5weeks ago)and now have been told 2 do pelvis excerises and wear the support belt which i have been doing but the is the pain is still there. i have had no sex or anything recently in over a month i am 36weeks pregnant on monday and my next appointment is this wednesday with my midiwfe. is the pain coming from my pelvis?

i had a c-section on feb 24 2007 im now pregnant again and im due march 3 2008 will i be able to get another c-section for 100% sure cuz i dint go through labor before i dont even know what a contraction feels like and i dont wanna know i couldnt imagine a baby coming out of me it to painful i loved having a c-section it was painless and i really want another one and i want my tubes tied im having it at metro hospital in cleveland ohio so can anyone tell me if they 100% sure they will give me another c-section cuz im really worried about it i desperatley want another c-section

they are always buying my daughter stuff, they bring presents over almost every other day.
I have tried talking to them about it, and it doesn't help.
I dont' mind them getting her stuff every once in a while but its getting to be to much.
She is a brat whenever she comes back from their house, and always acts out and doesn't listen. because they let her get away with everything and anything.
We have been cutting back time with them and not letting her spend so much time with them. kind of hard when they live a few doors down and come over anyways.
last night she spent the night at their house, today they pull up in the van and bring in 2 bags of chips, fruit rollups, juice, gum, watermelon, sugar filled cereal, cookies, and a new movie.
then she she goes over to help with the veggie garden and comes home with new sunglasses and a bag of donuts and popcorn!
is this to much or is it just me !??!
My dad made the comment, "this is what happens when i don't see her for a few days"

My boyfriend is coming this December from abroad and wants to have sex with me for the FIRST time ever, I'm still a virgin and NEVER had sex before, I'm 22, and although I had a better period cycle, I've been skipping periods for 2 months, and I've had ultrasound and certainly not pregnant. Now my question is, how is it possible for me for not to get pregnant if my boyfriend doesn't use a condom just for one time-sex?? The thing is, I may not survive up to a marriage because I'm having terrible health problems, so I just want to enjoy a complete happy moment with him, because he's my first and only love so far....please give me suggestions regarding this.....thanks

I am coming up on 42 weeks, I know the baby gains an estimated 1/2lb each week in the last few weeks. My Dr. thinks this is going to be a big baby. My first was 6lbs 8oz, but he was born at 38 weeks. For women that have gone past thier due dates.....did you all have bigger babies?

I've been on DSHS for a few months while I've been out of work. I finally got dental exams for myself and my kids since I finally got medical coupons from the State. Unfortunaly we weren't able to be seen for our resorative treatment (fillings) for a couple months due to the fact the dentists schedules are overbooked. My family's dentist appointments are scheduled in just a few days, but my problem is I just started a new job.

My new job requires me to work overtime, yet their main concern is that I always show up for work on time, and that I dont miss any days. I didn't tell them I had a dentist appointment because I really wanted the job. It only pays $10 per hour, which keeps me and my kids in poverty, but at least it IS a job.

Should I risk losing my new job to keep our dental appointments? Or should I just let the decay in our teeth get worse and leave it untreated to keep my job?

(BTW: I only worked 3 days at my new job already)

When I rent my kids a limo for their prom, does the limo hang out and wait for them to go home and charge me for the whole time or do they leave and then come back and pick the kids up?

Also, I never went to mine so I don't know, but how long does the prom usually last?

And, who pays for the limo, the parents of the boy or the parents of the girl?

My kids are still way too young but I was watching the new Carrie last night and I started to wonder.

Hi there. My 8 week old baby is still waking 3 times for food between 12am and 8am. Sometimes she doesn't want to go back to sleep and is alert at 2am, meaning I sometimes don't get back to bed before 4.30 only to get up again an hour later for more feeding. is this normal? When should you start trying to get them into a routine and how on earth did u do it? Ive tried giving slightly more food at the 12am feed but she still wakes up. Am I just being impatient and is she still too young for sleeping throught the night? any help much appreciated

the thing is i have 3 kids pregnant with the 4th( 2 by my husband the other with another guy). this other guy has 4 girls including ours together well i just found out that the baby im carrying is a boy & now everybody says it aint his. i slept with this guy on a tues( i knew i was ovulating..sides hurtin,etc..) i knew on fri i was pregnant took a test was postitive like 2 weeks later, from my due date it says i got pregnant like on wed. but me & my husband are trying to get back together & i slept with him the week or so before this guy & thats it. so what do u think???

i think that i am fine to drive because doesn't the pain start off weak and get stronger? so i would be fine to drive not far but just like to the store and close things. my aunt who has never had a baby is freaking out when i drive or go for a walk around the park. she thinks i am going to die as soon as labor starts or somthing.. what do u guys think if i walking am i just going to not be able to walk anymore once it starts?

I took a pregnancy test 7 days ago with a faint + started bleeding heavily next day with tissue. took like 10 more since then all faint + today only positive results with digital test and not with regular p.o.s test. see doc in 3 days. any one else had this problem and still had a healthy pregnancy?

I am a parent and know how hard it is to look after a kid and also try to enjoy a meal at a restaurant. It seems I always notice kids screaming and crying and running around alone. I don't think this is acceptable behavior. I think when it happens one of the parents needs to take the kid outside for some serious words. IF you don't agree what reasoning do you have that it is ok to disrupt everyone elses peace in the room while your kid crys and you ignore everyone
