All 4 of my babies were born past their due dates. Baby #1 was 9 days late and weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces. Baby #2 was 11 days late and weighed 7 pounds 14 1/2 ounces. Baby #3 was 5 days late and weighed 7 pounds 13 1/2 ounces. Baby #4 was 7 days late and weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces. With my last baby, I had Gestational Diabetes and they predicted she'd weigh at least 8 1/2 pounds. I had weekly ultrasounds and non-stress tests beginning at 32 weeks, but they were still off in their weight prediction.

going past your due date can cause you to have a bigger baby because they have more time to grow but, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be the case for you. Doctors often try to estimate the weight of a baby before it's born and they are not too good at that either. good luck!! One thing about having a bigger baby is that they can go longer between feedings so you may get a lucky break that way.

No I did not. I went 40 weeks with the second and the doctor told me it was fine. And he was, at a whopping 6lbs. 1 oz. lol Dont worry, as long as your doctor does not worry and want to induce than don't worry. The doctors monitor for trouble in the last weeks and if there was a problem he would have induced or told you .....Hang in there, and good luck

I don't think significanly. Your second is usually bigger, so definetly expect bigger than 6.8. My guess will be 8 lbs. My son was 9lbs only 2 days late. I think the weight more depends on how big you and your husband were, they say you can average your birthweighs. Ours worked almost exact I was slightly over 7 and my husband was 11 lbs 2 oz
Good Luck!!!!

Not always but it is possible to have a bigger baby, thats why Doctors like to go no more than 44 weeks tops for a general pregnancy. Either baby will come on his/her own or the Doc. will have to take him/her.

my first child was 2 days early and he weighed 8lbs 6 oz., my second was 2 days late and weighed 7lbs 5 oz and a girl, most people have average size babies, if its a boy its going to be bigger, by big he may mean like 8-9 lbs, not really that big, but you have to compare your weight and height before you got pregnant, for me both my babies was big for me cause i'm only 4'11 and was originally 105 lbs, so it just depends

Not significantly so. I went 10 days past my due date, my baby was 7 lbs 3 oz, but they said she wasn't post term, so I think my due date was off. It doesn't sound like your first baby was big, so I wouldn't worry.

The last 3 weeks of life before they are born, all they do is add on that fatty layer when they are born. The longer they stay in, the chubbier and "bigger" they get. I'm surprised he has let you go that long. See the negative things that can come out of having a baby in too long. It consists of abnormal head and body....have you asked about induction?
