i went to my friends sisters house and in the bathroom i noticed there were many pads in the trashcan. why would a pregnant woman use pads since they dont get their periods

When you are pregnant you get a lot of discharge.. Enough to wet your underwear. Many pregnant women wear them...It can be very uncomfortable if you don't, not to mention nasty....

when I was pregnant I use to have a very heavy discharge and it happened every time I stood up. the larger the baby got the worse it got .It went away right after I gave birth. There could other reasons as well but I assume everything else seems to be going naturally. I`m sure if she had any abnormal bleeding she would seek help from a medical professional or for that matter if her amniotic fluid were leaking she would or should do the same . If all else fails ask her about it depending on her age and experience she may be having problems she doesn`t know anything about.

When you are pregnant there is alot of discharge. At some points enough to have to use a pad because your underwear can get so wet. Why are you in her garbage? And why didn't you just ask her?

I wore the small liners for discharge early on, but some woman have urine leakage while pregnant. I had that with my last 2 towards the end, every time they would use my bladder as a trampoline, just glad it goes away after they are born.

When you are pregnant, you have white discharge. The further a long you are the, more you have. So doctors and other moms suggest you use pads to get your underwear from getting wet and gross.

Uh...okay, I just have to step in here before this confuses somebody: not ALL pregnant women get a pile of 'discharge,' or leak urine.
I (38 wks) haven't even been wearing underpants, never mind pads, for months now -- maternity underpants = spandexy junk, so.
Seriously, everybody else is waddling around wearing a full-blown pad? That's gotta bite...

because we get Discharge lots of it and we even leak urine and well would like walking around stinking? So we use thin maxi pads and dispose to keep us clean from getting irritation down below there not just for bleeding purposes.

Sometimes you do get your period when you are pregnant. Sometimes you spot. Also when you are pregnant you have increased vaginal discharge, which you should wear a pad for...

OMG...wait until you're pregnant someday. I don't know about the rest of you pregnant women, but I have so much discharge that I HAVE to wear one! I think it's pretty common.
