yeah you will be able to drive and walk. you have PLENTY of time to get to the hospital or get to where someone else is to have them drive you once the pain gets intense. now, while driving, just know your water could break in the car... no big deal.. you'll just have to clean the seat and carpet.

i wouldn't drive anymore than 20-30 minutes from home though... but yeah..you're fine!!

i'm sure your aunts behavior is frustrating though! just keep in mind that she loves you and is just trying to look out for you. just tell her, when she starts freaking out "i'm going to do it anyways. if you are right, and i have any problems, i'll just have to suffer the consequences. thankyou though for being concerned!"

good luck and congrats, by the way!

It should be just fine. Alot of people think that when you go into labor it's just like the movies--you know, where the woman says, "My water broke!" and she's popping out a baby fifteen minutes later. If this is your first child, you probably have nothing to worry about. Most first children come with about twelve hours of labor.

The labor pains start out like a menstrual cramp and get progressively worse. And if you're driving when this happens, chances are you'll be fine enough to drive home or to the hospital. You're not in active labor until you can't walk or talk through a contraction (and sorry--that takes a while). But if you're really that concerned, ask your doctor. Good luck and congrats! It's almost time!

Yes it's fine to drive. I don't think I'd go on a long trip but to the store is fine. My mom drove herself to the hospital while she was in labor becasue my dad was at work and not answering his phone pages.

Your fine to drive and do other things... Many women end up driving themselves to the hospital and delivery normally...

Think back to the time before there were hospitals... The women would work on their farm land, tend to their other children and make dinner... while in labor... then they would delver the child themselves and go on with their day...

Everything will be perfect!

Many women drive themselves to the hospital in labor. If you haven't learned yet that labor starts off slow then don't leave the house, spend every second online looking up lamaze and birth information.

I was at work when I went into labor with my first, drive home, sat around waiting for 6 hours before I drove myself to the hospital, I wouldn't let him drive and I wasn't going to go with out my car. With my 3rd I drove myself again after my older kids got home from school, my water broke before they made it home, and then I made them dinner got their bags packed, and off we went. And in early stages of labor they want you up and walking.

Your right labor usually does not come on all at once. However by the end of my pregnancies I didn't fit in the driver seat with a safe distance between myself and the airbag. Just something to think about.

Depending on which child this is, and it sounds like your first, you'll have plenty of time to get somewhere before you are too pained to walk/drive. In fact, the walking will do you good at this point.

I dont think it would be the best idea to walk bc if you are in labor, what if it turns into an emerengy c-section? So just be driven by someone, so u dont have to worry about being in labor while driving
