When should i be worried?We had a hard delivery she had shoulder dystocia and was not breathing for 5 min.

Yes, this is perfectly normal. Babies are born with a startle reflex, which is also called the Moro reflex. It actually shows that a baby's muscles and reflexes are working normally. This newborn startle reflex often happens when a baby is laid down, hears a loud noise, or receives a jolt (such as going over bumps in the road). This reflex will likely subside by the time your baby is 6 months old. At your baby's next check-up, ask her doctor about the startle reflex. He/she can check it to see if it is working properly and will be able to ease your concern.

yes, its normal...Its a natural reaction to being spooked by the bumps in the road, and newborns often jerk in their sleep due to reflexes. Don't worry...she will be fine! Tighten up her seat straps to be safe though. She should not be able to move loosley in her car seat, and should be very snug.

Make sure her straps are snug and if your carrier didn't come w/ a 'head rest' holder try using a rolled up blanket around her head to help support her more.
