When I rent my kids a limo for their prom, does the limo hang out and wait for them to go home and charge me for the whole time or do they leave and then come back and pick the kids up?

Also, I never went to mine so I don't know, but how long does the prom usually last?

And, who pays for the limo, the parents of the boy or the parents of the girl?

My kids are still way too young but I was watching the new Carrie last night and I started to wonder.

Thanks!

The limo will usually hang out and wait for your kids. And yes, you are charged for the entire time, regardless if your kids are in the limo or not. The prom usually lasts for 3-4 hours, but there is usually dinner before and a party afterwards. Usually there is a group of kids that go together in a limo, not just one couple and usually all the parents split the cost of the limo, since it is much safer for the kids to be driven by someone else.

I think they leave and come back. Whoever comes up with the idea of the limo should pay for it. No one said a limo has to be used. Proms last a few hours. You'd have to contact the school for specific details.

P.S. If your kids should become wasted and throw up in the limo, you'll be paying for the cleaning as well. You might just want to drive them yourself. Trusting the guy to take the girl will only make you a young grandma.

The limo driver may or may not wait at that particular place however you do have to pay for it for the entire time. Most companies rent out limos for 4-6 hrs at a time. The way we paid for it when i went to prom was we broke it down to how many couples were going and then divided it up that way.

No. I lived within my means. I bought a dress I could afford and went with someone I liked. I had a nice night and realized some things are worth more than one night. I had friends who are still my friends, even without the limo. Life continues past high school. Save for college; that is much more important than prom.

Its a set rate for the night.
Each prom is different.
Limo's are expensive, so people often take them in groups where each kid foots his fair share of the bill. Don't pay for your kids prom limo, thats a bit excessive don't you think?

PS. before my junior prom, I got totally wasted on a half pint of bacardi. It was easily hideable, and the limo driver didnt give a sh*t. Just something you might want to take into mind about your kids in a limo.

You have to ask the limo company about whether they leave (some schedule other pickups and drop offs) as to who pays, the one who orders the limo pays.

Drive them yourself.
Let me guess?
They're entitled children and you're too busy.
Just cough up the cash!
