Has anyone here used those fetal heartbeat monitors you can use at home yourself (like the bebe sounds)? Do they work?

I have a 2 year old daughter. The mother and I are no longer together. She keeps me from taking my daughter on my own for fear she will be around my G/F and her daughter. What should I do to resolve this?

We like the name Ethan Joseph, and I mentioned that he would have the option of going with the initials "E.J." My wife claims that's weird and she's only heard of AJ, CJ or TJ. I think she's crazy- of course, I knew an EJ growing up.

Not a big deal because we'll call him Ethan, but I'm hoping for all my Yahoo buddies to back me up and prove how correct I am!!!

My son just turned 3 a few weeks ago. He knows how to pull his pants (and underwear) up and down. But he doesn't know how to button or zip his pants. Therefore, we always have to put him in pants or shorts with an elastic waist.

He has no idea how to put a shirt on. He can't put socks on. But he can put his shoes on (20% of the time he puts the shoe on the wrong foot).

At what age do kids figure this stuff out? Should I be teaching him how to do this?

Thanks.

my partner is working and we are claiming tax credits and at the moment we have to pay full 59.00 a week rent to the council and full council tax. i have three children and all 5 of us are currently living in a very small 2 bedroomed flat. we have been on the council waiting list for over a year now and have been informed that we may never get a move to a bigger property as we are non priorityand there is a lack of council houses. The private housing is very expensive and the cheapest 3 bedroom house i can find to rent is 125.00 per week. would we be able to get help towards this rent through housing benefit as it is just too expensive for us. my partner is working full timeand we get working tax credits and child tax credits. no-one seems to know, not even the rent offices! many thanks!xxx

THIS IS LONG,SORRY.
So I have an 11 month old daughter and I still cant get her to sleep in her crib!. I know it is our fault for not having her sleep in there months ago, but she never slept well in there (she woke up every hour not able to go back to sleep) so for my convenience Ive had her sleeping in her bouncy chair the whole time. The problem is shes getting too big for the chair now,(its almost touching the floor) and we would like to have some privacy. We tried to put her in the crib for 3 nights in a row. The first night she slept for 6 hours straight, which I thought was great, the second night she slept for about 2 hours shraight and I tried for 3 hours to get her to get back to sleep and she screamed like Ive never heard before, and the third night she wouldnt sleep in it at all and she was pretty much hyperventalating she was crying so hard. she seems like shes petrified of the crib now and I dont know what to do now. Please someone help me figure this out. thanks!

Why is she being so selfish?? She's Mad at me cause she wants to go but her daughter isn't in school yet and she doesn't understand....

My son has been earning money doing odd jobs and from his allowence. His mother, with whom he lives with, is telling him that he can buy a Nintendo Wii system, but only if it stays at her house. Some of the earnings he intends to use are from sources other than his mother (i.e. myself).
Is it appropriate for his mother to dictate how he spends his collective moneys or should he have more choice in what he buys (within acceptable paramters) and where it remains after purchase.

For the record he is under 18.

So seriously my son really believes he is Luigi (he is three, with a four year old brother and 8 yrold sis), why Luigi, cuz he is the little brother, so he tells us. My other two children had decent imaginations, but never this unbending. When I call for him he will flat out refuse to acknowledge me, or will correct me and say he is Luigi, not Afton. It is to the point that at the docters when they call us back he wouldn't go untill they asked for Luigi, and not to mention how embarassing it is to be in Walmart, and have to say "Luigi put that down and stay with mommy", the other moms just give me a look like oh no you didn't name that baby that! Although funny, it is a bit much, and I guess what I am asking is has anyone else have had to go through this with a child, and did it eventually stop? Even his brother and sister faithfully address him as Luigi, my husband and I do to...

I am 33 weeks pregnant and was prescribed terbutaline on Monday night for preterm labor. My husband and I did some research about the drug and did not like the side effects, so I decided to stop taking it. I talked to my doctor and she said that its fine that I don't take it. I am currently 25% effaced and not dialated, I just wondered if others went through this and how long after they stopped taking it did they go into labor. Also, my FFN test came back negative.

I don't really want to be pregnant, and the idea of getting extra lbs is not excited either but I know that I will for the sake of the baby but I want to know what is the minimum.... I am 115lbs for 5 foot 1.

Also, I am a C cup already, will my breasts go back to my C cup size AFTER pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Please don't judge me, pregnancy never appealed to me at all! I want to have kids and want to adopt... but I might try to conceive one baby.

I would appreciate if you answer to both my questions honestly. Thank you!

My son is turning 5, and has been asking for months that his upcoming Birthday have a "Hot Wheels" theme.

I'm here to ask the amazingly creative minds of YahooAnswers to help me think of fun games/activities/ideas for the party that would tie in with this theme. I need to keep about 15 kids occupied and having fun, and I am at a loss as to what I can do besides cake & Ice cream!

Thanks in advance!

I haven't been throwing up or anything so it isn't like that - I htought maybe it was from eating too much sugar - but its there even after I drink water and stuff. I've been sucking on mints, but most have sugar - so I cut down to little tic tacs - but it comes back like half and hour later.... blech! So gross!! Anyone else deal with this?
