What is the best way to protect a futon mattress from a baby or child's urine? My neighbors toddler loves to nap on my futon, which is fine with me, but she still has accidents. Right now I'm using a bed mattress pad but it doesn't fit well. What is used in Japan in hotels and in families with young children to protect against accidents?

Hi i'm 6 weeks pregnant today an i just need to know when its best i should tell my emplyer? Now or in 3weeks time or in a months time, when i'm past 12weeks? I really dont know whats best. I do know i have to tell him before 15 weeks to my babys due date.

She has felt quite warm for the past 3 days now (yesterday she felt cool but she has begun to feel warm again today). She is sleeping alot and although she is drinking a bit it's not as much as she used to. There are no spots or rashes on her body but she seems generally unwell and weary.

She's got an appointment today but I'm so worried.

What could be wrong?

Where I can purchase Huggies diapers in bulk for a low price?
I went to the grocery store today to buy diapers, and they had raised the price by almost $6 since the last time I had bought them! I looked on amazon and eBay, but their prices were either around the same as in retail stores, or the shipping was OUTRAGEOUS!

Oh I wish my son could wear generic diapers!

My son's dad lives with his mom and step dad out in the country. His stepdad has a rifle next to their sliding glass door, because he likes to "target shoot" with the squirrels that mess with their birdfeeders (sigh, i know...). My son goes to visit every other weekend with his dad in that house. I had asked him probably 6 months ago (last time i was over there and saw where the gun was, as he lives 4 hours away) to put it up when our son is there, and he said he would. Well i had to drive all the way to go get my son today (usually we meet halfway) and i saw again the gun in plain view just leaning against the wall. I pulled my sons dad aside and brought it up, and he said its not his gun, and the step dad wont put it up, just in case its needed quickly (for a squuirrel??)...i am now very hesitant to send my son back there, because all it would take is 30 seconds of unsupervision to get badly injured or killed. What do i do? Should i talk to step dad? Not let my son there? Any ideas?

My friends name is Cassandra Raven, and her sisters are Alexandra Robyn and Sasha Wren. This seems a little too themed, since all their middle names are birds that start with the 'r' saound. Also, their first names are the same name in different languages. I guess Alexander (yea, i know it's a boys name) is what they are ALL derived from. Alexandra is english, and Cassandra is greek, while sasha is russian.

I guess i kinda went off topic here with that example, but i was wondering if most people think it is cool when parents make all their childrens names themed (includes alliteration), or if you think it's weird.

My 26 month old daughter is a very energetic, fun-loving, wonderful kid who loves to learn letters, numbers and colors...unfortunately, that has translated into her artistic expression on my walls! Thank God for washable crayons! She scribbles all over the walls and then shows me proudly the "W" "M" "S" "O" "2" "1" "shark" bloop-bloop (fish)", etc... that she's made! I love that she's creative and intelligent, I just wish it wouldn't be on my walls! :( Yes, she has tons of paper and coloring books...it's that she knows their washable because she likes to help me use the wipes to clean the walls...what can I do to stop this? Any tips or personal experience stories? Also, she did it with pen once--how do I get THAT off? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I'm expecting. And I was wanting to know if it is better to find out the gender of the baby on the ultrasound or should we let it be a surprise...much like the baby?????

These are my major dilemas: 1) Does not want to stay dry at home, but willingly uses the potty in public places. 2) He's outgrown size 6 diapers and pull-ups do not absorb as well, but he won't tell me that he's wet, so pull-ups fail (on my couch!) 3) Uses the potty well at home if he's naked, but he's so active I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself if he runs around like that, plus I think it's a little taboo. 4) He seems to "act out" (misbehave, push little brother, whine) when he needs to go, but says he doesn't want to go then has an accident.

Should I be more demanding or let him pee all over my house???? I encourage him when he does right, how should I respond when he doesn't? How do I make sure that he knows it's wrong to pee in the house or at the kitchen table without scolding him?
