you can buy four or five cheap hotwheels cars...and set up like a bozo the clown game, remember that?...set out like five small buckets in a line and have them throw a ball in the first one then the second and so again who ever throws the ball in the furthest bucket, wins a hot wheel car....keep playing till the prize's are gone...let's see, you can also blow up some balloons, tape or staple them to a board put a X on one or two of the balloons, get a dart, either real or a kid safe one and have them try to pop the balloons with the X on it and if they do give them some kinds of prize...so save money see talk to the parents and see if they are willing to have each kid coming bring a hot wheels car with them, there only like a $1 and use them as the prizes....if i think of anymore games i'll get back to you.

My son is turning 5, and has been asking for months that his upcoming Birthday have a "Hot Wheels" theme.

1] change activities every 30 minutes
2] make sure everyone gets prizes or souveneirs
3] open up with a BLOWER for everyone - that will keep them bust for a few minutes, especially if you invent a game -
a] push hot wheels down a straight line with the blowers
b] line up 10 or 12 tiny items in a row, and see who can blow them down, in order, the fastest.
4] everybody gets healthy snacks - cut up veggies, cheeses, etc., and bottled water with their name on it.
5] everybody gets BUBBLES - [ the hand held, blow it yourself ones - or they won't useup enough energy ]. Give them thirty minutes, or invent games for that, too.
6] fruit platter - do some berries, apples, citrus, and melon squares, and refills on water
7] WATER PISTOLS! Rule # 1 - no shooting at faces or heads, or lose your 'weapon' for 5 minutes [ 1 minute for each year ]
8] cake and ice cream! I made a pound cake, cut it into a car shape, iced it in his favorite color, used mini chocolate donuts for wheels, and put on ads for my son's favorite cereal, toy, and candy.
9] have air blown balloons ready. Put a car on the balloon, balance it, and do relay races to tranfer car to other end of room, etc.
10] everyone gets a blower, bubbles, water pistol, and maybe a car to take home? Write their names on goody bags.
TIPS:
avoid giving kids caffeine at parties - try juice, gator aid, or water - they get buzzy enough
give healthy snacks before cake, or even a meal - their blood sugar won't bounce as much

I did this them in March. My son and all of the kids (30 of them) loved it.
I created a 5' x 5' race track and had it laminated. I put the hot wheels out for the kids, while everyone was arriving.
I printed pictures of hot wheels and we played pin the car on the race track(the laminated race track)...closest to the finish line wins.
I gathered items for a "race". Cones, railroad ties, large bouncy balls, tricycles, and hurdles for an obstacle course. This was the best game we played...it kept the kids entertained for 45 minutes.
for decorations, i printed checkered flags and strung them together and hung them from the ceiling....i also created real checkered flags with wooden dowels and fabric...I made each child a pit crew pass to wear...nylon string with a hot wheel picture and their name.
For goodies...I went to the dollar tree and they had race car themed bags and stuffers....
For food..we served hot dogs, cake and ice cream
All of this can be done outside too...which for us was great with so many children.
Good luck...most of the items that I printed, I seached for nascar and hot wheel pics then printed them...copied them and laminated.
