We like the name Ethan Joseph, and I mentioned that he would have the option of going with the initials "E.J." My wife claims that's weird and she's only heard of AJ, CJ or TJ. I think she's crazy- of course, I knew an EJ growing up.
Not a big deal because we'll call him Ethan, but I'm hoping for all my Yahoo buddies to back me up and prove how correct I am!!!

it does sound kinda of weird, but i really like those names. who cares about the initials if u wont be using it. By the way Ethan is teh most beautiful names, one of my favs.

I would go with something like: Pierce/Pearce Reilly Pierce/Pearce Russell Percy Reagan Percy Reed Parris Roarke Parris Raeburn Pascal René Pryce Reagan Preston Richard Peyton/Payton Ramsey Peyton/Payton Rory Paul Roman Paul Ryland Paul Rockwell Prescott Roarke Prescott Reeves Patton Russell Patton Reilly Perceval Remington Perceval Reagan They may not be the best combinations since I have no idea of your tastes, but at least there is some variety. I didn't think it would be so hard to come up with "P" and "R" names! Anyway, good luck deciding a name! And congratulations on the baby boy!

I have an uncle & cousin names E.J., but the initials are the name. Short names will always be given. Especially little boys. They always want a short way to say their friends names. It will be cool, and you will hear it alot when his friends come by or call and ask for E.J.

I had a friend in high school named E.J. He's the only one I know of, but obviously it's not unheard of! Ethan is a great name anyway!

Not weird at all, especially if you have fond memories of the person from your childhood. Chances are you may never call him EJ, and since they don't "spell out" anything or have a negative connotation, it's not an issue.

Actually, my brother's initials are E.J. !!! Everyone's called him E.J. his entire life, and I don't think anyone's ever had a problem with that.
