Ok so I have 2 children. Over a year ago I was raped then I found out afterwards I was pregnant. I couldn't bare to keep the child as a constant reminder of what happened to me so I aborted very early. Now here I am in a happy relationship and we planned a pregnancy. I'm 8 weeks along and just read today that abortion can cause all sorts of problems in later pregnancies, cancer, excessive bleeding, handicaps, and even death. I had never heard that before....is it true? Should I be worried?

How much TV should a almost 3 year old boy watch? What is healthy? We just moved to a new area where my boyfriends ex has lived. my boyfriends son has been going to a daycare part time for almost a year and now full time that we live here. everytime that i have picked him up (should be naptime) all the kids are watching a movie (noneducational, just cartoon) and playing quietly with the teacher and eachother. I was told at those times were nap times. I could pay a babysitter to watch movies with him. shouldnt they be put to sleep with quiet music or something like that? is that normal? our old daycare would only watch movies as a last resort if it was raining and they didnt have crafts or something like that to do. My boyfriends ex doesnt want to change daycares because he is "established" there and she said she doesnt think it is that big of a deal. Is it????

My friend is a single mom of a 4 month old girl. We live in the state of Oregon. The dad insisted that they get a paternity test done, and now refuses to hand over the results. As far as I know, he is in Germany, in the Army, but possibly back in the states now. What can my friend do to get this loser to support his child? All he has ever done for her is buy her a highchair. Can the courts force him to pay up?

Im 25 weeks pregnant, and last night was very ill with food poisioning. I vomited heavily 4-5 times on 2 seperate occasions throughout the night and have diaorrea and a slight temperature. I just cannot face food at the mo, although I feel I should eat something. I did call doctor this morning who told me to drink fluids and rest, which I have done all day. At the moment Im feeling really sluggish and tired, but the sickness has passed although the diaorrea is still there. Has anyone had anything like this when pregnant and how did u cope with it?

OK, so I think of myself as somewhat of an expert on extreme weather, since I lived 30 years of my life in N.E. Wisconsin, 1 year in Boston, and 3 years in Bullhead City AZ (one of the hottest cities in the U.S.) So, for cold weather (like we have been having hear in Wisconsin lately with temps 20 below or worse), I firmly believe that gloves suck and mittens are the way to go. Mittens are warmer than gloves (of like material/construction) because having the fingers together is advantage.

The problem is, I can never find good mittens for my 5 year old daughter. This has been a problem year after year, even when I look for them early in the season (October/November). They seem to be somewhat easier to find in the boys section, but still pretty scarce.

I even looked on Ebay, and the selection is pretty pathetic there too. Where can you find so warm childrens' mittens (preferrably water resistant) for a fair price!?! This is insane!

Our daughter is 2 and a half months old. She usually goes to be at 10:30pm and gets up once of twice during the night and then usually gets up for the day between 8-8:30am. She is usually getting about 9 hours of sleep a night.
My question is... is this normal? All the books make it sound like they should be going to bed at 7pm and getting up for the day at 8am. I am just wondering if she is sleeping enough at night?
Any thoughts?

3 days ago, I noticed tiny tiny spots of blood when I wiped but it wasn't enough to show up on my underwear. It happened the next day too. Very very little. I'm expecting my period within the next 7 days. If I am pregnant, then I'd only be like a week and a half to 2 weeks, I think. Could implanation bleeding start that early, cause I think it can start happening 6 to 12 days after conception- that's what I read on a couple of answers.

My daughter is almost 8 months old and she seems sleepy to me. I guess I am ready for her to be up to play more. She typically goes to bed between 9 and 9:30 and is up by 7:30-8:00. She takes a nap at 10 (usually for 2 hours) and another nap around 2:30 (again 2 hours). She sometimes will take a "cat nap" (30 min. - 1 hour) around dinner time. Does this seems normal?

Do you have time to take and pick up kids from school? What do you do about school holidays and summer vacation? I am now a stay at home mom to a two year old and am wondering what type of career to go into when little one is in school. Help this is all new and quite confusing.

I'm just curious. It seems to be a fairly common practice, but I've never actually known someone who did it, or WHY they do it.

This is supposed to be a happy time....first pregnancy and all. So why do i find myself in a totally vile mood today and ready to strangle the next person I'm forced to talk to? Has anyone had the hormones raging around their body just make them fighting mean? This is the first day I've had this reaction - just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.

We can't decide on what to name the baby. I have always liked the name Teresa for a girl pronounced te-ray-sa. But have no idea what middle name would go with it.
I also like the name James for a boy, but my sister used it as her son's middle name. Could I still use it as a first name and what middle name would go with it. My boyfriend's name is Allan.

I am looking for a boy name that sounds good in English and Spanish.

Example: "Adrian" It sounds good in English but also makes sense in Spanish.

Please, nothing like "Tyler" (there is no way to say that in Spanish).
Thanks in advance.

Are stomach aches common in the first 3 months of pregnancy? It's not really an actually stomach ache - like throw up - but more like lower abdominal pains - almost every day, every couple hours, and not severe - just a lull dull pain. I'm wondering if this is normal and usual?
