We can't decide on what to name the baby. I have always liked the name Teresa for a girl pronounced te-ray-sa. But have no idea what middle name would go with it.
I also like the name James for a boy, but my sister used it as her son's middle name. Could I still use it as a first name and what middle name would go with it. My boyfriend's name is Allan.

I like the names you have chosen. I would spell the girls name Teraysa though. You could pair it with several different middle names.

1. Teraysa Nicole
2. Teraysa Leighanne
3. Teraysa Renee
4. Teraysa Jane
5. Teraysa Marie
6. Teraysa Jo-Lynn

And as for the boys name there is no rule that says only one person in a family can use a certain name. It would be different if your sister had used it as a first name than it would be totally off-limits but since she used it as a middle name. You can use it as a first name. I like it paired with the following choices.

1. James Bradley
2. James Allan
3. James Dougal (J.D.)
4. James Nathaniel
5. James Elliott
6. James Nicholas

Congrats and good luck on finding just the right name.

Even though your sister gave her son the middle name of James, it is ok for you to use it as a first name. You could always use your middle name as a middle name for a girl or even a female family member's name that may have passed on or that you are very close to. For a boy you could go with James Allan after your boyfriend or in the same situation use a family member's name that has passed on or you are close with. Some good names together are:

Teresa Anne
Teresa Marie
Teresa Elizabeth
Teresa Christine

James Michael
James Timothy
James Aaron
James Elliott

Good luck and Congratulations.

If you want to, you could use your first or middle name or the first or middle name of your mom, mother-in law, grandma, sister, someone in your boyfriend's family, close friend, etc.

Other suggestions are :

Teresa Amber
Teresa Anne
Teresa Beth
Teresa Christine
Teresa Danielle
Teresa Dawn
Teresa Grace
Teresa Jane / Jayne
Teresa Jean
Teresa Jo
Teresa Marie
Teresa Michelle
Teresa Nicole
Teresa Renee

I have to agree with some others, though, people will pronounce it Te - ree - sa. Maybe you could consider Tereysa. Tereysa Jayne would be cute.

As for a boy, sure you could still name him James, but you could spell it Jaymes if you want it to be a little different. Or if you want something similar, you could consider Jamie, Jaime, Jim, Jimmy/Jimi, Jay/Jai or Jaden/Jayden. But i think James or Jaymes Allen would be fine.

First of all, a million trillion congratulations to you! You guys are in for such a ride! Enjoy it!

Second of all, I can't say that I am fond of Teresa. This is from a personal asscioation, though, so you don't have to take my opinion seriously. If you guys are dead-set on this name, consider a different spelling. People will have trouble pronouncing it.

You should be fine using James as a first name. After all, your sister does not own the name! If you think it might offend her, just ask. If she says it does, perhaps you could consider Jacob, Jonathan, or Jack, as those are similar names.

Good luck! In the end, a name WILL come to you. I know it seems impossible, but it will.

The only issue with being particular on pronunciation is that teachers will always mispronounce it, and she won't be able to correct them.

I like Teresa Leigh, Teresa Lynn, Teresa Claire, Teresa Beth, and Teresa Brooke.

Also in that style, I like Serena Belle, Serena Claire, Serena Michelle, and Serena Belle.

As for James, James Allan and Allan James are very nice. I think that it's no big deal that it's your sister's son's middle name. Now if it was his first name, that would be different. But whatever.

Good luck! Let me know what you go with!

I would pair Teresa with a name like Rebecca and James Allan sounds all right to me. Yes you can still use James as a first name eventhough your sister used it as a middle name. There is nothing wrong with that.

Yes you can use the name James as a first name even if your sister has used it as a middle name. There is nothing that says she owns that name. I like the sound of James Allan. As for the girl's name how about Teraysa Judith.

If you like Teresa but pronounced te-ray-sa you might want to consider changing the spelling. Maybe Terasa or Teraysa. People are going to always say Teresa Te-ree-sa. I would choose a different name other than James since your sister already used it.
