It is way past the time she should have gone but having a routine check should alleviate any of her concerns. Many women skip follow up it is not recommended but understandable. just encourage her to get regular checks and she should be fine.

The second appointment is to merely check on the scarring and to ensure that their is no infection. It is rare, since you are given antibiotics afterwards, but to make sure the patient is fine, that's why there is a routine check up afterwards. I know a few people who didn't go to their routine check ups and were fine. In fact, some went on to have children without a problem. However, she should be getting annual pap smears and STD tests if she is still sexually active. She should not forego anymore medical treatments, especially after having this procedure done.

After my abortion I never had any check ups and a year and a half later my husband I were surprised to find out I was pregnant. I'm now pregnant with my second child.
Your friend should do what she feels is right. Make an appointment to see a doctor so any questions can be answered by a professional.

Good Luck.

Its important to get it checked out to be sure that everything was expelled. Leaving remnants of the fetus can cause poison her body. I think that if she had it done a year ago, and has had a regular pap since then, they would have checked her out. Be sure she has had some sort of exam since it happened. If not, please urge her to go.

I've been told that people who have abortions can sometimes have harder problems having children later in life and sometimes never become pregnant again.

I personally am against abortion unless the girl is raped, incest, or there's medical problems. At the same time I don't think anyone under 18 should be allowed to have a child- the child would have a horrible life.

I personally think anyone who has an abortion should be messed up so they cannot ever have children again.

I'm sorry but if you kill an innocent child all because you're a hoe and can't keep your legs shut, than you don't deserve a child when the time is right.

There's enough birth control methods out there, if you don't want a child- don't have sex or use birth control PROPERLY.
