Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 January 2007

Let me start off by saying that I have been pregnant before. My boyfriend and I had sex quite a few times while I was ovulating. My period is due today...and shows no signs of coming. I am showing pregnancy symptoms (which I know could be PMS), which are fuller, & really sore breasts, my lower back is KILLING me. Sleeping at night is horrible. Also, everytime that I eat..I get severe heartburn and sick to my stomach. I have taken a couple pregnancy tests..and they both have come back negative. But I know my body...and I know what it is telling me. Is it too early to test? If I am pregnant...I would be..4 weeks as of last Friday. Please let me know what you think...is it too early for me to test?

My 14 almost 15 year old daughter refuses to go to school..She uses an excuse everyday to stay home she has been staying home all last week and today.. She throws huge fits if I don't let her stay home.. Last week we went to the doctor for her.she told him why she didn't wanna go to school she said because the stomach virus is going around and she is afraid she will get it and have to throw up and she is deathly affraid of throwing up.. she hasnt thrown up from a stomach virus since second grade.. i tried explaing to her that she will probably not get it and if she does I will let her stay home but she is so scared she will puke or feel sick in school.. She worries so much she literally makes herself sick.. and also once she started the medicine the doctor gave her.. it gave her the diahrea and now she's afraid shes gonna get that in school too.. i have been giving her imodium with her pill and she has been fine but she still worries about it.. what should i do?

If my husband was to pass away, who would get custody of his daughter? He has full custody of her and has had full custody since she was almost a year old. I have been with him since she was three months old. She does see me as her mother. Is my husband allowed to choose who his daughter would go to if he would pass away?

I am not on WIC or any asistance so I generally get what is on sale or what I get a coupon for. I always stay within the same type of formula ( the DHA and ARA types).

I have had these lower abdominal pains in the past weeks, also this white mucousey discharge. my nipples and breasts are really, really sore. My last period was the week ending of the 15th of december. are these some symptoms of pregancy and has this happened to you?

My son will be 5 months on the 11th and I have been trying to introduce solids for about the last 3 wks but I am having a hard time finding something that he likes. He is not very big on baby food or cereal at all, just spits it at me but putting regular food in the blender isn't working either. I have noticed that if mommy is eating something then he wants to try it. any helpful suggestions on what to do next? he is a healthy boy, weighs almost 19lbs so he isn't sleeping thru the night because formula just doesn't hold him over night

my daughter is 10 months old. i feel it is important to know a second language. i feel it will only benefit the person as an adult. my husband and i only speak engilsh and we have no friends or relatives that speak another language. do you know of any cheap ways to help a child learn a second language?

my 10 year old son has been caught stealing several times in the last 3 or 4 years. now it is getting worse. at first it was just a handful of change. then it was a $1 here and $2 there. this morning he was caught with $15. my husband have been noticing money coming up missing lately, but have just been shoving it off as nothing. but now we are begining to think it was our son taking it. we have tought him that stealing is wrong no matter what was taken. we have punished him in the past, but it obviously has not done any good. i just don't know what to do. i am afraid that if something is not done soon he will end up in jail. my son also has some anger problems. we have tried to put him in counseling, but his grades in school dropped drasticly. what can i do to help him? i am at a loss as to what to do.

We are leaving on Thursday on a flight with a connection to Texas from Miami. My 18 month old is now getting very anxy, and loves running around, and I am not sure what I can take or do to have the best behavior from him on these flights. Also, has anyone traveled lately, any restrictions on what I can take for my baby? Is it ok to take a couple jarred foods and some juice for him? Thanks for all your help.

I went off the pill in the end of Oct and ovulates Nov 19, had my "normal" cycle starting Dec. 2 (34 days). I didn't really track it after that but I think I ovulated sometime the week before Christmas(or right around then). Hubby and I had i/c (but he pulled out before he ejaculated) around the 18th-20th. My normal cycle before the pill was never more than 37 days so according to that, I'm one day late. According to my first normal cycle of 34 days, I'm 3-4 days late. I was always regular before the pill.
I've been expeiencing cramping (like normal mensturel cramps) for the last week or so and my nipples have also been very tender (normally it's my entire breast that's tender). I've also felt bloated (which I normally get before my cycle). I'm more hungry than normal but that might be because I've recently started watching what I eat more (b/c I want to get pregnant).I've also felt abit constipated the last week.
I don't want to get too excited but I'm hoping! But I don't think Iam

My girlfriend and I have long bouts of sex. Generally we will go through a few condoms during the course of it because she will get dry and the condom doesn't feel right. We use condoms with spermicide. Now in between condoms we will have sex for a little while (5 mins) without the condom on to keep things going. I do not come without the condom on. Will the spermicide on the condoms be effective at all while in between condoms?

So i just took a first response pregnancy test couple minutes ago, and it came up negative. I am not late for my period. Im not on the pill, i had two irregualur periods one on nov 27th for 3 days and then one again on dec 14th heavy for 5. I was ovulating on the 28thish, and was having sex those days around it. My breasts and nipples have been sore for about 11 days now, and my lower back has been hurting for 3 days now. My period should be coming some time this week, i get it usually every 28 day. Do you think i took the test to early, or am i just striaght up not pregnant?

i have been very stressful lately and worrying about if i was pregnant or not and mostly been stressig over that. but i talked to my boyfriend and asked him a few questions and there is just no way that i could be, we didnt even have intercourse or anything along those lines. i also just got sick, and havent been feeling well at all, but its not as bad as it was a few days before. But thats another thing i have been stressing over. i also found out that my moms best friend had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and been stressing about that. could all this stress be delaying my period or may even skip it? or should i tell my mom about if it doesnt come within the next few days?

My husband and I have gone back and forth with this issue for sometime. I finally let my husband make the decision of not circumcising our son because he's a man and understands these things better than me.

I feel good about the decision because my husband is not circumcised and I want our son to feel he is like his father and totally normal. After doing some research, it is actually frowned upon by many countries. It's a huge money making racquet in the USA and I think more people are opting not to have the procedure.

The only dumb comment I've heard is...he'll be different from the other little boys in his gym class. I asked my husband this and he told me that growing up there were only two boys in his gym class that WERE circumcised. All there rest weren't. So I think this is a stereotype that the medical industry has tried to push on the public for years. It's a huge money maker every year. To get our son circumcised it costs $200. OMG! What do you think?

I am very confused! I've read several books that tell you that taking laxatives for constipation while pregnant is probably harmless. But I read in a book the other night that it might be taking nutrients away from the baby.

What's the real story? I've already talked to my doctor, but they told me to look at the pamplets that they gave me! That says you can take Metamucil, Fibercon, etc.....most of the time they don't work.

Help! I'm 12 weeks, but if I'm constipated, I look 6 months! What do I do?????
