Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 December 2006

it shows my cervical length was 5.8 on 8/30/06 and on 10/31/06 it was 3.1. Is it suppose to get shorter or something, anyone know why it is suppose to shorten in length?

My daughter just turned a year old on December 10.She loves to try and put things together and take them apart. So I was thinking that she would like Mr.Potatoe Head for Christmas cause she can take his face and all apart and put him back together.Plus she already knows where her nose is when ou ask her so I also thought this would be good for her to learn where the rest of the face(ears,eyes,ect) are.But my husband and my grandma all thought that she is to young and that is has to many small pieces.What do you all think?

I had my period last week and it came on the same time as always.But it only lasted for 3 days =O.Usually it last for about 5 to 6 days.What do you think it is? Could I be pregnant or is it just nothing to worry about.I was taking medicine for a UTI before I started.Do you think that medicine may have caused it to be so short?please someone answer this.

I'm almost 24 and my bf is almost 28. We plan on getting married but as of right now, neither of us really want kids. I might change my mind because I love him so much and sometimes the thought of NOT having kids with him makes me sad. I just know I don't want to have kids until we're well off and can provide them with the BEST life possible. I was thinking maybe when I'm 35 and he's 39, we should consider it. Is that too old? My mom was 30 when she had me, and it almost seemed like she had no energy to raise my sister and I. (She also suffered from depression too, so I'm guessing that could be why). Anyway... Is 35 and 39 too old to start having a family??

okay im tryin to loose weight for my 15. i have a couple of months to loose the weight. but im having some what of a hard time loosing it. so can anybody please help me out.. and it can be fun workouts too rite now im doing the basic things and dancing.

I know NOTHING about kids... do most first time parents take classes or something? I haven't held a baby in years. I used to love kids, and then something clicked in me that made me hate them.. but every once in awhile my motherly instinct kicks in and I want one. I'm so scared of them! What do new parents do? I know I am not going to be the first mother to say this, But my son is really a good kid. He is 16, and this is when he choose to Rebel. It started about three weeks ago, He actually came up to me and admitted that he started smoking, and now he can't stop, and that it was seriously bothering him. So I just grounded him. As i did, he just did not care, which was okay, considering it was one of the first times I had ever had to ground him. But Now, he is just getting mad.

It hurts me to have to see him act in a way he needs to be corrected, but this is normal because I myself was exactly the same at his age. But me and my husband just do not know what to do anymore. I hate punishing him, but it seems to be needed right now. All help is appreciated.

im 22 weeks prego, my belly shows, most people i know know that i am prego, i have been steadly breaking out since my 1st trimester, now i only have like 2 or 3 steady blemishes...people keep saying things along the lines of i wonder why you are pimply? i was never like that!...or the baby is causing you to break out with hives!...or you are still breaking out??...or poor thing the baby is giving you hives!!, or what are you having? i respond a boy., they say that expains why you are breaking out! im to the point where i just want to say F*uck off to these ppl...& its mostly business colegues that are saying this to me, my family knows better...its driving me crazy, what is a comeback that i can say to them when they say these things?? i usually say Aah the joy of pregnancy, or something like that, but now im just so sick & tired of hearing it. It seems that men always have the response of "Holy crap, you're pregnant!? Oh my god!". Well no duh, genious! You had sex with her, of course she has a chance of pregnancy!

Why the surprise? If you have sex with your partner, she will have the chance of becoming pregnant, didn't you know!?

And if you don't want a child, then why the hell did you have sex in the first place? Just avoid it altogether by not having sex until you feel you want a child (which no one should). There, problem solved!

Seriously, are men subject to amnesia after a sexual encounter? Did they not remember they had sex with their wife/girlfriend? It should be the other way around, the men should be saying "I'm home from work now! Are you pregnant?". It should be the biggest thing on their mind for weeks after a sexual encounter, and they act as if they're totally ignorant to the fact.

I know accidents happen - but I also know people who try to have babies, when they can barely take care of the children they already have. My cousin, for example, lives in a tiny two bedroom apartment with her husband and they are now on their fourth child (2 boys, one girl, and the 4th is on the way). They are on food stamps and are barely getting by. They were actively trying for that 4th baby too. Should I say something to her, or leave it be? I'm worried about her kids.
