I was very nervous, everything will be fine. Your body is going through some huge changes from having a baby it is normal to feel this way. I was induced with my 1st I was in labor 12 hours and did it all natural that was 9 years ago and I was 18 at the time. Congratulations

Getting induced is alot more common than people think, there are actually less instances when a woman's water actually breaks.
Depending on the situation, you doctor may break your water when you first get there, or he may wait and let it do it on its own. The nurses will explain everything that they are going to do, and make you fill out lots of papers, as far as the name, and hearing screenings, and other consent forms, for yourself and also the baby. They are very helpful, and can answer any questions that you may have.
The medicine that is used to induce is called pitocin. It is true that the labor pains that you feel will be more intense. This is because the medicine is used to produce the contractions, and they are not produce naturally. As time goes on, they will increase the amount that you receive, until you are having contractions every other minute or something like that. By this time, hopefully you will be in active labor. This is when you can get ready to push.
If you have already made up you mind as to if you are going to use pain medication or not, you should use that same mindset when you are in labor, even if you change your mind later on. If you have decided that you are not going to use anything, and you think to yourself, I can do this, it will be over soon (even though it hurts like hell). It seems to hellp you to relax. It's also okay if you change your mind and decide that you want pain medicine, nurses can adapt to this change easily.
Also, there may be time when you may want to scream and shout but it is not good to do this. It doesnt help when you are in active labor, it does not help the baby move down.
And as funny as it sounds, taking deep breaths really helps.
Good Luck!!!!!

I was induced with my daughter. Nervous and excited is very normal!
As for advice, first of all don't be induced unless it is for medical reasons. There are risks for induction and the only good reason to do it is that for some reason the risks of the baby staying in are greater than the risk of induction.
Also don't just automatically plan on an epidural. Even with pitocin, it's bearable without it, and so much better for you and the baby.
Cook some meals now and freeze them for after he is born.
Don't bring a million things to the hospital. Just bring something for you to wear home, something for the baby to wear home, some very basic toiletries, and maybe a book and just a few snacks. And the carseat, of course. Otherwise you just have way too much stuff to take home.

Yes this is normal. My advice would be that you need to expect it to hurt worse being induced than otherwise. It comes on really fast but it also gets over faster. I was induced with all 3 of mine. First labor was 5 hours 50 minutes, second was 5 hours 1 minute, third was 3 hours 30 minutes. Good luck

I was induced 3 days after my due date after almost 2 weeks of labor. The contractions are going to hit you and when they do they are going to be hard, so just be ready for that. They gave me demeral and phenogren. That just totally made me loopy, I was talking about things off the wall. I remember my contractions being hard, but I really don't remember, if you know what I mean. it's like I had my moments that are just blank. Well, after about 12 hours of being induced I only dialated 3 cm, so they did an emergency c-section due to my heartrate increasing and my sons decreasing. They gave me a spinal and I didn't even feel that. Good luck with everything.

My husband joined the Army and was at basic training and AIT for most of my pregnancy. We found out that he was being sent to Korea for a year right after that so the doctors agreed to induce me because he had one week inbetween school and Korea. The night before I went in I could not sleep. I was so afraid that first thing in the morning I was going to give birth and become a mom. I couldn't move I was so scared. The next morning I couldn't eat and we went to the hospital and the process began and as soon as the pain hit the nerves went away and all I knew was that my son was here and I felt I was that scared about that? It seemed so silly after it was over for me to be afraid. It didn't hurt as bad as I was told and it wasn't as hard as I thought. You will do just fine too and you will laugh later about how scared you were.

I think it's perfectly normal to be nervous, just as long as you don't get stressed over it. Just keep in mind that doctors are only doing this for you and your baby's safeness. It's only best for you two. I think I'll be getting induced too because of my high blood pressure but I'm ready to accept that because I've done the best I could to keep this pregnancy in the safe side. Just trust God....everything will be fine.

Everything will be fine. Sit back and relax. The baby will come no matter what. So there's no need in getting her self all worked up. Besides stress is not good for the baby. Especially now. You need to save all your energy for the big day. Good Luck and congrats.
