Just move his hand away and tell him no.
Its normal for boys. Tell him no, he will out grow it.

Do you tell him no when he pulls on his fingers, or ears, or toes? Of course not? so why tell him no about this? He is not doing anything wrong -- he's just a baby. And if he's having his diaper changed or in the bath, no one is around but you anyway. He's simply exploring his body, perfectly normal at this age. If you make nothing of it (because it is no big deal), it won't turn into a problem. However, stopping him, grabbing his hand, or telling him no could cause him to feel like his behavior is bad. Why do that to a baby?

You must have but one boy. It is a natural thing. I would suggest that you talk to other mothers of baby boys. It is a good thing that you are concerned about it. He may have an itch so put some medication on it next time you change his diaper. Normally they will not pull hard enough for it to hurt. Ask his father, but if you are a single mother ask your Dad. God bless you and help you. navysonofga

Its a boy thing. But as he's getting older don't tell him its bad or wrong, he may become insecure if you do. Just let him know that there is a time and place for everything and in a room with alot of people isn't the place. You've got years before you'll have to worry about that though.

why does it have to stop? He is a boy and always has a diaper on. Let him touch it. If he was constantly playing with it and in school, I'd be concerned

Don't. Every child needs to explore their body, it's the only way they'll know about it. Just make sure he does it in private, and he'll loose interest in it, at least until puberty. No need to make him feel ashamed by reprimanding him harshly.

He will be playing with it for the next 18 years.
You can try to stop him but good luck with that.

What he is doing is a normal part of self discovery. He is learning that it is HIS penis and he likes it!

Don't make an issue of it...if you do, he will think its shameful. Don't create problems where none exists...there is no danger (he won't pull it off or anything)
