There's no need to give her cereal sooner than when your doctor says, which he's right--typically between 4-6 months.

Right now she's getting all the nutrition she needs from either breastmilk or formula.

If she is already sleeping through the night and not waking for meals, thats awesome...she is getting what she needs currently from her bottles/breast milk. I would wait until she gives you signs her little tummy just isnt full enough, like when she starts wanting more and more formula/feedings. She will probably let you know when she is ready, but i have heard some Doctors say to wait clear until 6 months now. I gave my sons cereal at 3.5 months and they did fine, but i would go by what your doctor says. good luck!!

Most times they say around 4-6 mths, but it all depends on the baby,if she is drinking many bottles and hungry soon after then it would be a good idea to start cereal, all babies are different. My son was eating cereal at 3 months,my daughter at 4-5 months. If she starts waking in the night then I would try putting cereal in her bottle just before bed first.

No wait until 4-6 months. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends not giving food until 6 months and then only with a spoon never in the bottle. Good luck.

I might suggest getting a second opinion. I travel often with my husband for his job and thus have had many different pediatricans and EVERY one has said to wait until atleast six months to introduce solid foods.

In addition to that sleeping throught the night has little to do with if the infant is eating solids or not. If your child wakes up during the night it is because they are growing and need food or comfort regardless of whether they have eaten solids that day or not.

Hope this helps

If she is sleeping through the night don't bother until later because most moms do it to help babies be stasfied in the night but as she gets older if a regular feeding seems like not enough for her go head it can't hurt her

No you shouldn't be feeding her cereal right now, at two months she wouldn't be able to digest it. Babies usually start on cereals towards the end of their third month/beginning of fourth month unless they are not thriving and the doctor feels it might be needed. Your baby is sleeping through the night so there is no need to start over feeding her now.

Wait until at least 6 months. You have no idea how horrible life can be with a baby who is alleric to food or who cannot digest food. Human babies were not made to have food for at least the first year.

I had a nightmare with my poor son because my parents insisted on feeding him food and they almost killed him with their stupidity.

That is really up to you. All three of my children would want a bottle every hour to an hour and a half (seriously and not waste one drop!) I started using cereal in their bottles at 3 and 4 weeks to help keep them fuller longer. I added just enough to thicken up the formula. It helped considerably and they are 7,5,and 3 now. If your baby is sleeping thru the night, and eating on a regular 3 (+ -) hour schedule you can probably wait. That is your call!
