it shows my cervical length was 5.8 on 8/30/06 and on 10/31/06 it was 3.1. Is it suppose to get shorter or something, anyone know why it is suppose to shorten in length?

How far along are you? I can tell you that 5.8 is a great cervical length. So is 3.1, and you have to understand that th cervix changes ALL THE TIME. BUT, there is something called an incompetent cervix, and you don't want it to shorten too much or too fast. If you are past 28 weeks it is nothing to worry about. Usually IC appears around 16-20 weeks.

Good luck!

The cervix is the delivery canal! i'm no longer a wellbeing care specialist yet it is my assumption. i'd imagine the cervix receives shorter at the same time as pregnant because this is like a touch one dealing with a tunnel that may actually stretch to ten centimeters. it may only no longer be conceivable to pass a ways in which lengthy. i'd be incorrect yet it is what i imagine.

well in order for total dilation to occur your cervix needs to effaced so that's whats happening your Dr most generally will say you are about fully effaced when time gets close
