Yes you can but its not supposed to happen. If your hair falls out, then that means you dont have as many nutrients in your body for yourself and the baby. And of course, that is bad for the baby. My Aunt didn't eat as many nutrients as she was supposed to when she was pregnant so she took some pills full of nutrients and her hair started to grow out shiny and long and her nails were growing fast too.

It can be possible, but I haven't heard of that happening. I've heard the opposite. My hair has not fallen out at all since I became pregnant and all the moms I've spoken to said that they never lost hair either. It wasn't until a few months after they gave birth is when they started losing their hair again. My OB also mentioned that to me of what I should expect while pregnant. I didn't know any of this before I got pregnant.

I don't know about falling out, but my hair got incredibly thin when I was pregnant! The doctor told me it's mostly from poor nutrition. (I guess fast food isn't nutritious! ::GRIN:: ) Anyway, doctor said to make real sure I took prenatal vitamins and ate way more healthy cause what I ate was what the baby was getting too. Like smoking and drinking, your baby will be what you are nutrition wise. And you are quite literally feeding two so if your nutrition is poor than the baby will be taking what it can for nutrition leaving you with less than optimal health, hence the hair loss. Probably the B vitamin Biotin since it helps with good hair and nails. So the better you take care of yourself, the better the chances your baby will be healthy too.

My hair has been falling out and I am 6 weeks pregnant. The doctor said this is due to stress, not just the fact I am pregnant. Luckily, I am not getting any bald spots.

It is pretty common, but it's not like a huge deal. Lots of nutrients are going to the baby and so your hair is more likely to fall out because it's weaker. Of course it also depends on how healthy the woman is. The healthier the mother is, the less likely she's going to experience hair loss.

yes it can, but when your hair falls out while pregnant, it isnt much at all, it can make your hair a little bit thinner tho, i am pregnant, and at the begining of my pregnancy my hair fell out a little but, enough to notice, but not too much to be worried about. and its not that common.
