Would you be willing to perform (not have) an abortion? Explain.

2006-12-05 04:58:37 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous in Pregnancy

I am researching this topic for my own curiosity and there are many questions that I am going to inquire about. I want to hear everyone's opinion. I do have my own biases but will not name them here.
The first question has two parts.
I am asking you to forget what you currently believe about abortion and just answer the question as honestly as possible.

1. If an unborn baby is proven to be100% alive from conception, a living being, is it still okay to have an abortion?

2. If an unborn baby is proven to be 100% not alive, a lump of tissue, is it still okay to tell women they can't have an abortion?

Why or why not?...

I have a wonderfully loving 4 year old son who can be so sweet and loving one minute and irrational the next if confronted. I have tried many different approaches from very early on. We do not like to spank per say but I have at times when needed or at a loss of what to do. Spanking in turn makes him hit back and kick and from there on it is just a fight. Plus, how silly is it to say "We don't hit" while hitting him. So... we went to time, out only to have him throwing himself all over for what seemed like hours. Next step included sending to the room and that worked for awhile because he was distracted and would come back into the current family situation without any problems. We have now graduated from that to sending to the room accompanied by screaming, yelling, slamming and if I attempt to talk to him he covers his ears. This will even happen if the problem is not severe and just trying to communicate if he is not interested. I am not parenting, just reacting! HELP!!

through the night. He is up at least 3 times. I have suggested letting him cry himself to sleep, but that doesn't work. He eats 2 of those times.(yes they feed this little garbage monster alot) Any ideas on how to keep him asleep for most of the night. I am asking this because my daughter only woke once for a feeding when she was that age, and always( still does) sleep throught the night. I fear with out sleep , my poor sis will go mental. Help.

I went for my 37 wk check up and she told me I am 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. I know I can stay this way for quite some time. However since she did my check yesterday I have been bleeding (which she said woul happen) and I have been feeling really bloated and a little crampy. Does this normally happen after a check up. It's been just over 24 hours.

My 12 week old is getting up once a night for a bottle. The thing is she is up for an hour or during that feeding. Getting up is not the problem it is staying up for so long that is getting tireing. We usually like to keep her upright for 30 minutes after a bottle. We have been doing this even during the middle of the night feeding. I just wonder if she is getting used to bieng up that long. How should we feed her in the middle of the night?

I am a 21 year old male trying to conceive with my girlfriend. I'm worried that I might not be able to have kids. What determines whether you can have kids and what kind of doctor would I need to find to do a test to see if i could or not?

Okay, I am 38 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second son. I lost my mucus plug little by little yesterday. Today, the braxton hicks have been coming more than normal. I am having cramps on my right side (not contractions) and I am tired as all hell. I am beyond miserable...the dr said not to be surprised if I have a baby that is more than 10 lbs. I just want to get some opinions....do you all think labor will be really soon or still a week or so away? Thank you.

Share your stories of why having a baby was one of the best things that ever happened to you. Or the opposite.

My last period was September 24, so I'm a little over 2 months late (very regular). I have took around 14 hpt and all negative (I have tried different brands: clear blue easy, 1st response, etc.). This past Monday ( Nov. 27th ) I had a blood test done and it also was negative. I have been having symptoms like sore breasts, naseuated, tiredness. I don't understand if I'm pregnant why it hasn't showed up on any tests yet. What do you think? Thanks for all of ur opinions and advice. very much appreciated.

Hello everyone:

I am 9 weeks along today (yay!) and had my first OB appt last week. My doctor called this morning to tell me that they found Group B Strep in my urine from last week. He is putting me on antibiotics today for this. I have never heard of women having this treated until later in the 3rd trimester or during labor. Is this something I should be worried about?

I just want everything to work out because I had an ectopic pregnancy back in August. I just pray to God it will all be okay.

Thank you!

I've tried everything to keep him asleep through the night but he keeps waking up. The only thing that keeps him sleeping is ibuprofen but I am afraid that this is not good to give him every night. What do I do???

I am on my first child and my sister is ahead of me by 2 1/2 months. She is on her third but its causing some problems. Everyone is excited about this for me and this included her at first. Today she broke down crying because she said that she is afraid that my pregnancy is more important than hers because this is my first. I asked her why was she thinking this and she replied "because mom asked you to register already". The thing is, I dont have anything and thats why my mother said that. Her youngest is now 2 and her oldest is 3. I feel really bad but at the same time I feel like its a little selfish.I dont know how to make her feel better about this and not feel bad about it myself. What should I do?

Ok ladies (and gents if there just so happens to be any). . . .Since I am shooting to start conception in May or early June so I can start prenatal vitamins early, cut down on caff, and get on a good workout schedule. If i am shooting for a particular time in March of 2008 is there a calcualtor or calendar that helps tell you when to start conception?

Sometimes I think I am way to paranoid, if my baby who is three months acts in any way that is out of character I call an ambulance as I have no car and transportation is a major issue, I feel like a complete idiot when I do though because my baby seems fine after they check her out., does anyone else have this problem with their first born babies? Am I that daft? Do you parents just let it slide when your baby seems a little off? I have mental problem or over stressed or something it feels like because I freak out about any little change in my baby, like today she was floppy and didnt eat well so I called an ambulance is that over reacting? I would just like to hear some stories of other paranoid mothers.

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I am seriously paranoid! Even with this being my second child, I'm still freaking out a little bit! It appears that the baby has dropped. You can tell my looking at me, and I can tell by the movements I feel. The thing is, the movements feel EXTREMELY low, right around the pubic region. Also, while I have had some mild back pain, this past week has been excruciating. I feel serious pain in my back when I stand up, it's very hard to walk (it goes beyond the "pregnancy waddle"), and sometimes, I feel a downward pressure, like the baby's about to just drop out of me! I'm not due for another 3 weeks, but I can't help but wonder...is this normal? I'm scared I'm going to go into labor within the next couple of days, and I don't remember having these sensations when I was pregnant with my first. I don't go back to the doctor until next week, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
