Hon you could walk around for weeks dilated at 3cm but then again you could go into labor with in the next hour. Everybody is a little different. With you only being 36 weeks I would probably say you still have a week or two to go. I know that you are probably tired of being pregnancy, but the longer he/she in inside of you the healthier he/she will be when it is time to deliver. Good Luck and the best of wishes.

You won't get to 10cm until well into your labor, as 10cm is full dilation. Typically women dilate 2-3cm around 32-35 weeks and stay that way until they go into labor, when they dilate the rest of the way. Being 3cm dilated at this stage is not indication you will not still go full-term.

I walked around dialated to 3cm for 5 weeks. I went one week after my due date and had to be induced still, this was with my second child.
Theres no timeline, some women it could be hours, some only get as far as you, 3 cm, then nothing for weeks.

I was dilated that far around 32 weeks and went 2 weeks past my due date

anytime up to 2 weeks. That's what a doctor gave for a time frame to one of my friends. I'm guessing it could be a little longer.

THAT BABY MAY NEVER COME OUT! (just kidding) it can take a few hours or a few weeks, relax and enjoy the last chance you have to sleep for a while! Good luck and congratulations!

It can take hours or days. its all on your body. Try walking around as much as you can. and be sure to take a shower. it helps make you calm down plus you will feel better in the hospital nice and clean. good luck.

Well it will probably take about 2 weeks until your labor starts, dialation starts early.

not everyone is the same it could still take awhile
