Yes its ok to drink decaf coffee. Actually it is ok to drink coffee with caffeine.. you just have to limit the amount. It is not the coffee that will effect your baby, it is the caffeine. My Doctor allowed me to have up to three (which I thought was a lot) cups of regular coffee a day if I chose. Caffeine is the culprit..not the coffee.

My Dr. told me it was ok to take one cup of regular coffee a day. Decaf should be fine as well. I haven't had any at all since I knew I was pregnant, I'm 19 weeks today with my 1st baby!

I think the other answers were paranoid.
A little bit of caffeine is unlikely to hurt your baby.
Mostly the concern is around low birth weight babies, so if you are measuring small or not gaining much weight, you should probably cut out as much as possible. I gained a ton and always measured on track, and I never gave up caffeine, in fact, I had 1-2 cups of coffee per day for most of my pregnancy.
And I had a healthy 9 lb, 7oz baby.
I would focus more on making sure you are doing things like getting the good nutrients and vitamins you need. If you are eating your fruits & veggies and healthy protein, and taking your prenatals, a little coffee or extra sugar isn't going to hurt anything.
(All this does assume you are healthy.)

I would ask your doctor to be sure but remember there is a teensy bit of caffeine even in decaf.

coffee is fine once a day your dr will probably tell you to limit the caffeine intake. my friend is pregnant right now and her dr told her she can have 1 caffeine drink a day. everything else should be cafeine free or decaff coffe.
Things have changed from 10 yrs ago I would ask your dr to see what he/she thinks though.

um first let me say its perfectly fine to have cream and sugar while pregnant lol.
Second caffeine is even ok to consume while pregnant. you just dont want to be drinking nothing but caffeinated drinks all day as they can lead to dehydration. i drank a couple of cokes a day and my babies were born healthy and happy.
So i definately think decaf should be just fine, unless you are high risk, then you should talk to your doctor.

decaf coffee still has caffeine just less than regular. So it would still be good to limit your intake

From what I understand, the answer would be NO. The reason I state this is because unless you want your child to be "addicted" to caffine, and then labled by his/her teacher as a child with AD/HD you do not want to drink coffee while you are pregnant. If you have any other questions please e-mail me at (tk_precious@yahoo.com).
