It's on the side/back of his baby toe, but it goes from the tip of his toe down to the base of his toe, then wraps around and covers the entire pad of his toe, and part of his foot "pad" almost to the webbing inbetween his toes...I mean it's HUGE. Friday it was filled as large as his toe so I did use a pin (sterilized) to relieve the pressure instead of having it pop on it's own. Now, 4 days later, it's all purple and red, and it looks like other little blisters are forming. He's a daycare baby so he has to wear shoes (i'm lubing it with neosporin and a bandaid). How can I keep this from getting worse (as in infected)? I've never seen a blister this bad! He's been wearing shoes for months!

My 1 month old gets PISSED when she is on her back to sleep. She can hold her head up and she can roll onto her side....but it makes me nervous because they say SIDS is a higher risk when they're on their sides and stomachs. But if I use a sleep positioner she screams all night. What in the world do I do?

My brother in law brought his son into the shower with him when he was a baby and he got so scared his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he was upset for a long time, very hard to comfort. What was the youngest anyone has brought their baby in the shower with them?

Some people have babies that cry allthe time, then have tantrums, wont eat properly etc, while some have babies that are happy, easygoing, sleep lots.
How much of this is genes, and how much is it to do with how the baby is handled and the environment it is brought up in?

9 wks pregnant with #3 at 37 years old, and turned this test down with first two at 32 & 35 years. Had two healthy daughters, but because we want to know for sure if baby is a boy(shopping reasons-need everything if it is; nothing if it is a girl) and is healthy due to my "advanced maternal age" (!!!) am considering it for this one. Is the test painful? It seems very invasive to stick needle through the mother's stomach into the uterus, not to mention dangerous. For those ladies who have had it, would you do it again? Did anyone have a bad experience because of it? We will be faced with question to have this test or not in a couple weeks, and want some unbiased imput.
Thanks so much for your thoughts, and ALOHA!

If the sperm poured thru a test tube, can a lady become pregrent, if though there is no sexual contact between the penis or vagina ? There is a genuine reason for asking this quest.

I am 18 weeks pregnant and having serious trouble sleeping. I am trying not to lay on my back at night, and trying even harder to lay on my left side...but I am not comfortable, no matter how I lay. My back hurts, I put heat on it, my legs hurt I do the same. Nothing is helping. I dont think I slept more than an hour last night, and have to be at work all day. Also...I am very weak and dragging! I am actually sore all over my body like I worked out really hard. Any suggestions??

My guy and I have known each other for 3years now... He split up with his gf in the beginning of this year after he found out she had cheated on him with his mate last year, after the break up she found out she was pregnant... Me and my guy have talked about moving in together... We know we get on well as time has told these past few months as we've been so close, closer than ever... He is still close to his ex as she is having his baby, and I don't want to get in the way of that, he said he doesn't want to be with her. Should we move in together or not do you think? I think it would be nice if we did and then the baby can come and stay with us when he/she is born, and come for weeknds to see daddy, I think it will be nice .... Or is it a bad idea moving in together?

I have asked this Q earlier but seen as different ppl are on at different times and my other Q would of moved further down the line by now.....

My sister is pregnant and she is making me feel responsible. She is 19 and she has 2 kids already. I am taking care of my nephew. I don't know what to do because she is putting this baby up for adoption and I can't even look at her now without crying because if I was her I would want to see the baby grow up. What should I do?

My son has almost grown out of his little bathtub, the problem is that he's only 5 months old and can't sit up on his own. His legs are too long for this tub and he has also just surpassed the weight limit of 25lbs. Has anyone else gone through this? What would everyone suggest I do? Should I just get into the big tub with him whenever I bath him or is there an easier solution? Thanks

What has happened to society?! Is it really that bad if we spank our children?

Yes, I am aware that if done too hard, for too long, spanking is a form of abuse. But, if the child acts up, and you warn him, and STILL ignores you, I think a good spanking is called for (A good spanking is like ten slaps on the rear).
Am I wrong in this thought?

Back in the day when spanking was accepted, and was actually encouraged, kids KNEW respect! They thought twice before they acted up again! So, is spanking really that big of a deal? When I was little I WAS spanked. And I DON’T resent my parents for it! They taught me what was right, and what was wrong! I NEVER acted up in public, I showed my parents respect and I acted my age most of the time.

I remember when I was grounded. LOL! That NEVER worked! The moment I was ‘free’, I was back out causing trouble! But the moment I was spanked, my mouth was shut, and I was doing my chores with a smile on my face!

So is spanking really that bad if it is managed in a way so that the punishment never crosses the line to abuse?

I was wondering, Are there any parents around here, That take care of their newborns/children on a 'demand' schedule?

If so- I've been trying this with my 5 day old daughter, BUT- it's not working as well w/her as it did my 18 month old...She doesn't seem to want to wake up to eat, I have to wake her up..Should I let her decide for herself when she's hungry, and feed her on HER time, or should I continue to wake her up every 3 hours to feed her?

I can't hardly sleep anymore! o.k. my kids should be over that stage of not sleeping at night fully but all of a sudden...my youngest who is 2 almost 3 keeps getting up and saying my name and coming in my room and disturbing me through the night...I have to almost whip him everynight just for him to stay in his room. I've tried watching tv with him, rubbing his back, taking him a warm bath, ect. I don't get a good night's rest and he doesn't want to get up in the morning...What can I do?

Or at least make him pretty happy. If possible, under $100.

(He has a bike already.)

I've been discussing this with someone on here (momma2mingbu) and she's very against spanking. She says "hitting teaches hitting." I personally don't believe that and I'm very for spanking.

She mentioned to me some of the alternative punishments she uses like time-outs, taking away privledges, and something called "in service". "In service" is where if one child hurts another child then they have to pretty much be their slave for the rest of the day and get them bandaids and open doors for them etc. I just kind of found it funny that my kids are spanked, and don't hit and her's aren't spanked but beat each other to the point of bleeding and not being able to open a door for themselves.

Now I'm not saying my kids won't ever hit, I'm sure there will come a day sooner or later. But do you think it doesn't matter if kids are spanked or not--do they hit anyway?

I'm 37 weeks along and lost my mucus plug when I had my pelvic exam yesterday. My doctor told me I am 1 1/2 cm and 50% effaced. I'm defnitely ready to have the baby and unsure how much longer its going to take. Is there anything I can do to speed this along (I've been restriced from sex at this point also)
