4 years. I wish they were more like 3 years apart so I could get 1 more year out of them having the same interests at the same time. Alas my 8 year old loves Bratz but my 12 year old has outgrown them and now is more concerned with CD's, hair and boys LOL

My children are exactly 2 years, 2 months apart. And there are 3. The first one Jan 2000, 2nd march 2002, 3rd May 2004.
this just happened!
We had originally wanted 2, (but were happy to keep our third "surprise") and I had thought 11/2 years would be best, to have them be close and also to get through things more quickly (like diapers) and have them go through things close enough to be prepared to deal with it again.
The bad thing about having children close together is that you can be really tied up with them when they are very young and have no time for anything else.
2 years-2 1/2 year to three years apart seems pretty nice but then by the time they are all in school, I will definitely appreciate having some time during the day!

My 6 kids are all exactly 2 years apart. Some I wish they were closer together b/c I think I was always potty training one of them and would have liked to be able to train them at the same time. Sometimes I wish they were further in age b/c I would have like to enjoy the stages with them a little longer before moving on with them or a sibling.

I'm not a parent but son with a brother. I'm 21 and my brother is 11, honestly I wish my brother was closer age to me because I would be able to spend time and talk on a level closer to my age. Possibly even do more. It's still nice having a younger brother look up to you but I'd personally would of liked if he was closer to my age around 2-5 years apart.

My kids are 16 months and 5 months, 11 months apart. So far it's great and I wouldn't have it any other way. My sister and I were 10 months apart and to this day are best friends, and I hope for the same for my son and daughter. Maybe 3 or 4 years down the road we will have another but for now our family is perfect!

I have a 15 yr old, 11 yr old, 8 yr old, and 3 yr old. It's a good age seperation because I never had 2 kids in diapers at one time or two kids in car seats, strollers etc. They all get along really well. My sister and I were 5 1/2 years apart and I think that is too much. We were so far apart that our hobbies and activities were never the same.

I only have one child but I can tell you that my oldest brother is 15 year older and my other brother is 10 years older than me. I want my other baby to be within 3 years apart of my daughter. I wish I could have been closer to my brothers. I think it is important to have close age children.

I have two kids of 21and20 from my first marrige and five kids 13,12,5,3,1 in my second marriage. I love all my kids but I often wish the two from my first marriage could be closer to the five kids I have with my current wife, although I understand why this is tough.Any ideas how to fix that??
I will also tell those of you who don't already know having three little ones so close in age is VERY tough going.

Three years between the first and second and two and a half years between the second and third. I know people who have their children closer together, it was hard when they were little but easier when they were older. I am happy with the age difference between my children. I have heard that less then two years or more then three years is a good guide line.

I have three kids and the ideal age difference, for me, would be three years. One of the benefits is that when they attend high school, one would be a freshman and the other a senior, hopefully. That way, the older one could drive the two of them to and from school, and help with the tough transition from middle school into high school. Too, they would still be close enough that they can talk with one another and share interests. And, as for another thought, they wouldn't be relegated to having to share the same bedroom--which often happens if they were close in age and of the same sex.
