Use gram floor. I mean what we call 'Besan' in India. Take besan and make a paste adding some water in it. Gently rub this paste on your child's head and wash it using bearable hot water. Don't use soap. It can damage folicles of his hair.

Never heard about the cornstarch - wouldn't that just make a paste? Try Dawn 3-4 times and then continue with baby shampoo. Will take time, don't get too discouraged.

It will take numerous washings before you get it all out, and still it will kind of look limp for a few days to a week. Someone told me vaseline smother hair lice, so when my toddler came home with head lice, I put it in her hair. I think it was a big mistake and would never do it again. I could not get that nasty stuff out of her hair. It took numerous washings and still looked terrible. I did this for many days. Finally it came out. Yes someone was right it makes your hair shine, but it is not worth the hassle of getting it out. P.S. Your child probably did not put as much as I did in my daughter hair. Good luck.

u should wipe all the excess off first.....then wash with Blue Dawn soap. it might take three washes so u may have to sit there and just repeat as necessary. another good idea is to go to your local sally beauty supply and buy the shampoo made for wax hair styles in the "crazy hair" section a friend of mine said that worked. good luck.

First comb out what you can - fine tooth comb. Wash hair and then try viniger or lemon juice. They acid will help. Its not bad for the hair in europe its used to get shinny hair. Could take 2-3 washings.
Good Luck

My daughter is 1 and constantly does this. You just have to keep washing it and you also have to massage the shampoo deeply into her hair and scalp. Then give a good rinse and some leave in conditioner. Hope this helps you.

You have to wash it more than once honey! I feel your pain! My daughter is mixed but her hair is really soft and curly. I don't know why my MIL put hair grease in her hair but it took me 6 washes to get it all out!
Johnson &Johnson Head to toe took 6 washes and I didn't have to worry if she got soap in her eyes. Once you get it all out, make sure you use a bit of leave in cream conditioner so that his hair stays nice and soft!

Fill the tub up with warm water and add a little soap. Have him lay down in the water but keep his face above so he's not fully underwater. Then run your fingers through his hair and scrub it out.

the best thing is while you are washing her hair (with baby soap so it wont hurt his eyes) is to take a fine tooth comb while in the bath
