My friend has two children, one baby that her Grandma watches all day and a 6 yr old girl, normally watched only after school by a teenager. Due not only to the teenager getting chicken pox and an employment shift change the 6 yr old now needs to be watched for 2 hours before school and 45 minutes after school. I am doing it this week because the teen has chicken pox. I am getting up 1 1/2 hours earlier than normal and I have four kids of my own. I have to try to keep the girl quiet to not wake my babies. How will I say no if this friend asks me to keep watching the 6yr old, mainly because I don't think the teen will be willing to watch the girl at 6am. The 6 yr old is not a bad kid, I just don't want to watch any children, especially having to get up at 5:30 am.

The local schools expect me to enter my 4-year old into their reception class. She will get taught all of 3 hours a day and there will be no lunchtimes included. They tell me it will give her a routine for when she starts school proper when she is 5. (They also tell me that if she don't do their reception class they can't promise they will have space for her when she starts proper?!?)

So when i tell them she has been at nursery since before she could walk and we have slowly added extra hours now she gets 3 full days of nursery a week. She goes in between 8.30 and 10.00 and gets picked up at 5.30. She gets to have dinner with her friends on those days (that's the way she sees it).
So how can they claim it is productive to break that routine, send her on a new routine for a year and then change it all again when she start school proper? And they don't even provide a lunch hour in pre-school!

Can anyone explain

I have a baby boy whos 6 months old and has really bad eczema. At a recent visit to a herbal shop I was told that his baby formula was responsible and I should switch him to either soya milk or rice milk. The dermatologist at the hospital said it has nothing to do with his diet, he says its hereditry (his dad has it). Who's right? Should I switch his milk and keep him away from dairy products altogether?

My 4 year old son had very severe cradle cap.. He's always had it.. As a baby I used baby and olive oil.. Recently the doctor gave him some foam prescription medication, and it worked wonderful, but it pulled a lot of his hair out along with the scabs.. It doesn't seem to be growing back yet and b/f I take him back to his doctor I wondered if anyone else has had this problem and can help me?

Ok need your opinions...This is more or less just for my entertainment as i no noone can say for sure!

I am 36.4 weeks pregnant
I lost my plug w/ no blood at 34.2 weeks
i have been having ctx since 34.1 weeks (feel like menstrual cramps)
was checked at 35.3 weeks (at L&D cause they thought my water was leaking) and i was indeed having small ctx my cervix was soft and starting to thin but no dilation

35.5 weeks i was checked at my reg. appt and i was fingertip dilated

36 weeks started getting more back ache different from previous backache (in my lower to mid back)

36.3 weeks i started getting lots of pressure in my pelvis and feels like baby is pushing my cervix when she moves

sooo that said how much longer do you predict till i have my baby? do you think i will last till my due date Dec.8?

My 9 week old likes to eat approx. 4oz every 2 1/2 hours ( I make up 5 oz bottles ) and some days it seems like she even wants a snack in between. I thought formula fed babies could go 3-4 hours between feedings.
I read that I should try to see if her crying is being caused by something other than hunger so I do the usual checking of the diaper, try to distract her with a toy etc....but at the end it's the bottle she wants. Is this normal????

I need a little guidence here. My 10 1/2 month old has started biting. Any suggestions on how to help him stop? He used to give kisses, but now the kisses have turned into biting. : ( Help! I know he doesn't mean it maliciously, but there has to be a way to help him understand that it's not nice and it hurts...besides the obvious of telling him to stop.

I am a working mom of five. My husband stays at home with the kids four days a week and I stay at home on the fifth day. I am an attorney but I make an effort to be home by five so we can all spend time as a family, eating together etc. Our three youngest (1,3,5) are usually in bad by six thirty and the older two(12/13) go to bed between seven and seven thirty. Recently the two older kids have been arguing against this and I have pushed his bedtime to 8,he is still not happy. What should I do,are bedtimes a thing of the past?
They are up at six every morning and I think it is important that they have a good nights sleep as they are very active all day. It also gives myself and my husband a bit of alone time in the evenings.

My friend is pregnant, and we are living in a country where antenatal classes are very hard to find, and prohibitively expensive. (We're in a West African country, and my friend asked me for advice.) Never having been pregnant myself, I thought I'd ask on Answers for tips. The only thing I could offer her was what my mother taught me, breathing exercises. Breathe in deep through the nose, breath out deep through the mouth. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I am very regular. Last month I got very sore boobs and total exhaustion, mood swings, etc... two weeks before my period was due. Then I started 5 days early, with bright pink and red flow. Now, here I am again, two weeks before anything is due and same situation, sore, tired, and grumpy. Anyone got any ideas? Did I miscarry maybe? Anyone experience this before?

I just wrote a question about sleeping and my aching body...but it is really more than that and it has not gone away yet today. From my butt all the way down to my toes...I am in pain. Last night...even after switching positions one hundred times...I had numbness in my leg all the way down through my toes. My leg is really weak...which is not good bc I am a dance teacher at a high school. I keep stretching it and the pain is not going away. What is this?? I put in a call to my doctor but have not heard from him yet. I do not want to take anything for it unless I absolutely have too!!! What could it be and is it something to worry about??

I am pregant...at least that's what three pregnancy test confirmed and I don't have a doctor's appointment until Thursday. I just took the test last thursday and they were all positive since then I have had a few symptoms...breast tenderness, sleeping all the time, a little nausea. However over the weekend I was cramping a lot. Last night I had cramps that woke me up from my sleep!!! They are very sporadic but last night they were bad but I am not bleeding. What could those cramps mean?
