Only if you tear or are cut. Some doctors prefer to let you tear on your own, while some would rather do the cutting. With my first two I had to get stitches. I am still pregnant with my third. They dissolve on their own, so you won't have to go back to get them cut out, and the only thing is that you can't wipe, they suggest that you pat yourself after the bathroom, so you don't tear the stitches, they come out after about a week or two. I had no problems with mine. Hope this helps. But not everyone has to get them, not everyone tears or is cut!

You would get stitches, obviously if you have a c-section,or if your baby's head is so big that he or she causes you to tear.I on the other hand had three births ,three little girls, and thank God they didn't rip me! b/c I'm a big chicken when it comes to stuff like that! Also if you do ALOT of stretching excersises like doing the splits the straddling way will help to loosen the skin between your booty and your hmm-hmm.

If you tear in the hospital, they'll probably stitch you. Don't let them cut you.

You will only need stitches if you tear or if they cut an episiotomy.

I did not hava any stiches with my vaginal birth. The last one I did tear a bit but it wasn't enough for them to stich it it eventually grew back together. If they do cut you or you tear alot they will stich it up.
