we talked about this in psychology. your temper is something that you are born with. if you ever watch a room full of newborn babies they all have different temperments, some are cranky babies, some are very easygoing. and this isnt something they learned from their parents because they havent had enough time to watch their parents. however, your environment does influence it too. if you have very aggressive parents, you will become more aggressive and vice versa. both things have equal influence on shaping your temperment.

now you are really asking two different questions there..First, NO I do not believe temper is taught. Second, YES I do believe parents, teachers, baby sitters and the environment in which a child grows up shapes how the react in a situation. I think we are all born with very unique personalities that make up more grouchy, happy, sad, emotional, whatever..to things and situations around us. I believe a person can be taught to react to any given situation in a positive or negative way..

I don't believe temper is taught. I have two boys ages 6 & 3. My 6 yr. old is laid back, easy going and wants to get along with everyone. My 3 yr. old is grouchy, argumentative and could care less about getting along with anyone. If temper were taught I'd think that two brothers who were together every day, all day would have two very similar tempermants.

Having a temper might be natural, but a person has to be taught how to control it if they want to accomplish much in life.

I believe rage is taught, by setting up unfair standards for one group and benefiting another group for no reason.

Unfortunately, it is.The mind learns by association or you can call it experience. If at one point mere disappointment that made us angry made things go our way, by nature we will try to use it again. Eventually we try to master it.
