It is a problem if the girls parents dont want her dating someone over eighteen. I have a sixteen year old and I prefer her to date someone eighteen or under. 3 years is not that big a difference but what an nineteen year old is looking for in a relationship is more than what I want my sixteen year old giving. This boy is probably graduated already and is into other things. Things that college boys are into or maybe he has already moved out of his parents house. He has a lot more freedoms than a sixteen year old should have.

Yes it is a problem. 19 years of age does not mean he's wiser to any degree. At 19 this boy needs to be dating legal age girls, period.
A 21 year old tried to date my daughter when she was 16 and there was no way on this life or the next was I going to allow that. I'm not saying turn your daughter into princess locked away in an ivory tower (although thats not a bad idea - heh-heh). But whoever she dates should be closer to her age - and not adult age.
Certain problems can arise whereby this boy can be locked up - and parents now days can be held acquiescent to this particular problem (contributing to the delinquency of a minor) by knowingly allowing their child to date a legal age adult.
Its happens all of too often. The boy might even be a nice boy - but seemingly nice boys do bad stuff too.
If I may paraphrase the Waterboy's Momma.., "Boys is da devil!".

I'm on the fence with this one, but I guess as long as they can be trusted then its fine. If you decide to let them give it a go then you should watch for behavior changes of any kind and immediately address them. You should also talk with the guy to see if you can figure out what his true intentions are. Also set some strict boundaries for them to follow.

Yes, 16 is a child - 19 is an adult - adults shouldn't be looking at children that way, nasty and illegal if they end up having sex.

If you trust her let her go. If you trust the boy let her go. She should know right from wrong. If their good kids they'll be fine!!
