My son has almost grown out of his little bathtub, the problem is that he's only 5 months old and can't sit up on his own. His legs are too long for this tub and he has also just surpassed the weight limit of 25lbs. Has anyone else gone through this? What would everyone suggest I do? Should I just get into the big tub with him whenever I bath him or is there an easier solution? Thanks

What I did was I bought one of those seats for the big tub that have a support to help them sit up or you could do what my mom always did which was put them on the big tub but put a full size towel down under them and fill the water level to what ever you are comfortable with. The towel will still make the bottom the the tub comfortable for them and if you only use a small amount of water it will help keep the baby warm.

Wal-Mart sells this thing called a baby bath seat. It is a big seat that you put your baby in, which supports his body, while you bathe him. It's really cute. Also, the kitchen sink works great! I bathed both my girls that way, and they loved every minute of it. It's also easier to get to them in the sink. Or, you could get in the tub with him. Just make sure someone's around who can help you get him out of the tub when you're finished bathing him. Babies can be slippery little creatures when they get wet.

They make baby chairs for the bathtub. I used one with my kids and they loved it. They'd usually lean to one side and splash alot, but they had alot of fun. The only other thing I did was shower with my baby until they were big enough to sit up. My husband was always close by with a towel. The only issue with that is a wet baby is a very slippery baby. Just try to keep a leg propped up and the baby on your leg. It'll help you keep a better grip. Mine tended to like the shower best because they stayed warmer.

You can get these things at wal*mart that are like little beach chairs, and you sit them in the bathtub and prop the baby up on them but, you have kinda support them from not falling over! Thats what we have for my nephew. he is 7 months old but, he has had it for a while. they have soft things around the rim to help support the baby though.

I would get a baby bath seat. They are sold at Wal-Mart in the baby department for around $5-$7. They are great until the baby can sit up.

They make an inflatable thing that goes into a regular bath tub. It's for older infants so maybe that would help.

Get into the tub with him. He'll love it and it will be relaxing for both of you.
