Pregnancy & Parenting - 21 September 2006

My 2 year old is at daycare from 6:30am to 4:30pm and hes been biting there. How do I diciplne him 4 or 5 hours after the fact? (besides talking to hm about it - because he understands what he's doing and will tell me he did it)

Can someone please tell me, how soon after conception can a heartbeat be detected ? My friend has had IVF treatment, the embryo was placed in the womb about 3 weeks ago, she went for a scan today ( as according to their " official " dates, she's infact 6 weeks pregnant ) ..but no heartbeat was found ! Is this anything to worry about ? She has another scan next week, but she's concerned and I would like to be able to reassure her ! Is it too soon to detect a heartbeat, or has it failed ?

When I was pregnant with my son, me and husband separated and I filed for a divorce., because I did not want to go back with him, he said one time during a phone conversation "I hope your baby dies" - I was 51/2 months at the time - I know that we all say things which we do not mean when we are upset, but do you think this statement is forgiveable???

The past few weeks i thought i was pregnant, i had a home test and it showed that it was -ve so i expected my periods but it has not appeared am supposed to have my periods on 20th but it didnot come and i feel sleep sometimes and eating food stuffs that i don't always eat i feel some abdomen pain but nothing like periods am i pregnant?

My sis in law is overweight and she is pregnant now, Dr said she has to reduce her weight , if she want a normal delivery. otherwise she has to opt for surgery only.is it possible to reduce/maitain weight during pregnancy. if yes then how?

Parents who weren't afraid to put there children over there knee?

I like the show, so do my girls, but just for the entertainment factor. I have watched parents say they tried spanking, I have seen some weak attempts of spanking ( a light swat to the rear ) But never anything that would actually alter the behavior of these kids. I have never seen a mom or dad take one of these horrid children to a private area, lower there pants, put them over there knee and spank them. Has anyone else? I am not suggesting that people beat there children (leaving bruises, welts, other marks) but a good old fashioned spanking never hurt any of us. If you haven't seen the show, watch it, kids spitting in there parents face, punching there parents face, cussing at everyone, and much, much more.

Granted I am not saying that's the only problem with these kids, they get little love and zero discipline. Most of these parents have just given up (very sad).

im booked in to have my scan at 17weeks but everyone is telling me this is to soon to see the sex and that id be wasting my money. this is a big decision and would like to know if anyone else has had a gender scan that early.....all i seem to be told is the ppl who had a scan and that they were told the wrong sex .

This is my second pregnancy and I dont recall being anywhere near as hungry in my first pregnancy. I am 7 weeks and if I dont eat when my body says to , I feel like I am gonna get sick?? Anyone else have this???

OK I am just 36 weeks yesterday but the other night I was in the hospital having contractions every 4 to 6 min. They sent me home and said to come back if they are stronger well they have subsided and I only get them towards the evening hours. Any how this is my 4th child and I am dialated to 2 and 40% effaced. Anyone have any idea of how fast things will move along or been through this themselves a month ago I was not dialated or effaced at all.

I am 26yrs old, married for 14months, my husband and i have been trying to conceive for 6 months now, i started my period on the 11th September but since monday 18th Sept ive been having bad cramps in my stomach, feeling sick and direah for 4 days now, my back has been hurting me too. I havent been feeling myself, has anybody experienced this before?? Had a period but been pregnant?
