In a perfectly fertile male and female couple, the chances of getting pregnant are only 20% in one month. I'm surprised there are as many people as there are in the world. A woman's normal luteal phase is 14 days. That is based on a regular 28 day cycle. If your periods are irregular it is more difficult to pinpoint ovulation. Either way, your best bet is every other day beginning on day 8 of your cycle, on through day 16. Good luck, and don't give up.

There is no set time though looking at your family conception history will give you an idea. If on either side going back 2 or 3 generations has no difficulties and were fertile than you should be fine. Other factors such as high stress levels, age, and health can factor into it as well. From 30 years old for every year after your conception rate or ability is reduced with more chance of problems. High use or long term use of oral contraceptives can have an affect as well. If like mine your family has a high fertility rate then your problem should be not getting pregnant.
I have 4 weeks left in my third pregnancy. I stopped the pill 1 month before and we went at it like bunnies.
Good luck

It can easily take a healthy couple a year or more to conceive and many doctors will not start infertility testing or treatment until you've been trying that long. It can also happen the first time a woman has sex. Eleven years is pretty extreme... you probably don't have to worry about that, especially if you take the time to learn a bit about your cycles and how to determine when you're fertile (I highly recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler for good info.)

I gaurantee that if you calculate your ovulation cycle and have sex on the day you ovulate you will have a lot better chance of falling pregnant sooner rather than later. Buy ovulation tests off ebay. it's usually 8- 13 days after the first day of your period. If you are both healthy you should be fine. remember to start taking pregnancy multivitamins as soon as you start trying and keep away from stress as it will make it heaps harder. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you! Wink wink!

There is no definate answer to your question. If things are right , a woman can get pregnant on the first try., while others try for month and months on end and are unsuccessful. Barring anything physical on the part of you and your mate, only God knows.

first go for me (12 weeks pregnant). But a friend of mine tried for 10 years.
Like you said, everyone is different, & I don't understand how you could get hope from such a vast array of responses. Just start trying and see what happens.
Goodluck!

Everyone's different. My husband and I have been trying for over 3 years. My friend tried for one year for her first and two months for her second.
Keep your chin up!! 80% of healthy couples get pregnant within one year. Good Luck!!!
