Its not me, just a question. I was wondering what is a pregnant woman suposed to do if she gets an infection or something.

Amoxicillin is safe to take while pregnant. Nothing stronger though!! I'm actually taking it now to cure my ear infection. It's safe for pregnant women and their babies.

yeh, when ur pregnant and u get sick the doc will still provide you with antibiotics but they will not be as strong as what you'd have not being pregnant. Before i found out i was pregnant i was on antibiotics and my bub was fine. But a pregnant woman should never take antibiotics without it being prescirbed first because its a high risk of miscarriage or complications with the pregnancy.

Most antibiotics are safe during pregnancy (at least, safer than continuing to suffer from an infection)... so as long as your doctor knows you're pregnant, you're fine. if your doctor didn't know, all you have to do is call the pharmacy where you picked up the prescription and ask the pharmacist if your particular medication is safe during pregnancy. and don't worry!

well this will depend on how old your pregnancy is.In the first 3 months most antiboitics can be really harmful.But if you really need to take it the doctors normally know the right dose to give you to keep the risk at a minimal level.After the first 3 months things are a little better and the baby can stand a little more of the antibotics.But generally it's best to avoid antiboitics unless it's really necessary and your doctor presribes it for you.And also remeber to take the exact dose that the doctors direct you to take. What are you taking them for? Did a doctor prescribe them for you? Does the doctor know that you're pregnant? If the doctor knows you're pregnant and still gave the antibiotics to you, then I wouldn't be too concerned. If you're still worried, get a second opinion.

There are antibiotics that are safe and those that are not= different ones have different side effects- if you know which antibiotic call a pharmacy and ask about that particular one. d

It usually isn't, especially when prescribed by the OB. Woman should also ask the pharmacist when she picks the meds up.

before she tries anything she has to fast see the Doctor coz she might take what will affect the child in the womb or herself. she should not prescribe medication for herself
