I have a fourteen month old daughter. It seems the past few weeks she has been ignoring everything I say and do to her. When she is bad, my family doctor suggested a light tap on the hand, enough for her to know she was wrong. That worked for a great while, but not recently. She does not listen to "No", a tap on the hand. I don't want to raise my voice or spank. I wonder if she is old enough to understand the meaning of time out. I know she has more teeth coming in, but with her past twelve teeth it did not result in her being bad. Any suggestions how to handle this?

My husband went to pick up our son from his afterschool daycare to find him being smacked around with one of the large sit-on bouncing balls by an older boy and the staff standing there paying no attention to it and talking amongst themselves till they saw that he was there to pick up our son. My husband didn't say anything to the staff because he was so upset and did not want to say or do anything he might regret. So I called the following morning and was told that what husband saw was not what happened and given a different story. What to do?

Not the same room of course. But can I paint other rooms, with good ventilation, or is it best to wait till the child is older or not in the house?

I have been with my bf for almost 3 years and at first his children excepted me with open arms even went as far as calling me their step mom. About a year ago their mother moved down to be closer to her children and just within the past few months the children have been changing. I am no longer their step mom, I am just dads gf. Everytime the 16 year old girl goes to see her mother she comes back to treat my two small children 11 and 4 like they don't exsist and alienating them. All 3 girls have to share a room and the 16 year old makes them feel like they are not welcome when they are here. My children are not handling this very well and niether am I. I have asked my bf to talk to her but he doesn't say the right things to her to make her understand and when I do.... her mother intergets and says something different. Now what?

Follow up to my earlier question on MMR effect on sperm - Semen has red blood cells, white blood cells, sperm, and other bodily fluids. Since the MMR Vaccine is in the blood, and semen has that blood, and MMR is a live vaccine, then I expect that it would transfer to my wife through my semen and it would not be good to get pregnant.

Therefore, how long is it LIVE, when can we resume trying? Doctors - please respond with details and explanation. Non-Doctors, please provide pointers to where you get your facts.

Thanks

My baby girl is 9 months old. Has never slept through the night. She is breasfeed. Lately, she has not slept longer then 2 hours at a time. Does anyone have any good secrets to putting her down and keeping her asleep?
I bathe her and read to her and start to put her to sleep around 830pm- usually takes a half hour of back rubbing to get her asleep. Then every 2 hours she pops her head up- I wait a few min to see if she will go back down, but that uaually leads to crying. If this is how she is, that is fine, but I feel like there is more I could do, something I am not doing right.
Thanks you!

When you go into labor can you eat or drink anything or is it a bad idea because with all the pushing you might have a bowel movement? And if you shouldn't how soon should you stop like the day before...

My and my Husband had sex about five days after I got off my period. The past two nights I am having flu like symptoms (body ache, feeling feverish with no fever and feeling very tired). I am usually a night owl but I have been going to bed at 9 or 10 pm. Also I have a lot of gas and bloating and cramping (Don't know if that is because of the gas lol) Anyways I can't test until Saterday just thought I would ask about the flu symptoms at night.

Thank you.

Do everyone think that homeschoolers are a bunch of sheltered kids who don't know anything, cause i know alot that aren't and some are only homeschooled cause they can't keep up with normal schools or there peeps don't want them to get behind in school.

We make it a point to sit down as a family to eat supper at the table. No one can be excused until everyone is finished eating. We make our daughter ask to be excused. We had a birthday party for our daughter this weekend and I noticed that 3 out of the 3 friends with kids that were there, didn't make their kid sit at the table to eat dinner with them. We have our daughter eat with us, no matter where we are. Other kids are running around, crawling under the table, while mine is eating. My daughter was always at the table with us when eating (after she was born) I'd feed her baby food while we ate. I feel that it's proper and a good thing to have children sitting at the dinner table as a family. My child definately eats all her food and isn't picky about what she's eating either. Do you have specific rules or anything for table manners or do you let your child run wild while eating or do you eat in shifts??

My son, who is only six, refuses and doesn’t go to school anymore! I am a single mom and go to work in the mornings before my children go to school., so I can be there when they get home. I just don’t know what to do. We don’t have any family living where we are at and I can’t quit my job to make sure he goes to school. I’m starting to think I should just let him, and then when he has to repeat the first grade, he is going to regret it. I just can not believe it…he is only six and already skipping school! Any advice? Thank you!

well effaced (she didn't tell me what %) she just said I was very tender and soft. The past day and a half I've had mild to strong contractions for about 3 hrs each time lasting anywhere from 30sec. to 60 sec. long and between 3 - 4 min. apart. I as well (not to get graphic) have had diaharrea as well. At the moment though I have no contractions to one an hr. if that. What's the deal? Has this happened to anyone? Personal experiences please. How much longer do you think I have until labor? What should I do? I've had 4 hrs. of sleep in 2 days! Is there anything I can do to speed the process? PLEASE HELP ALL (non-ignorant) SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you for your help!Oh, as well the baby has already dropped into place. I know people may suggest to wait it out but, that's not what i'm looking for, please help thank you!
