I haven't had my period since the 5th July. We've been trying to concieve for a year and a half with no luck. The thing is ive done a pregnany test which came back negative! I wasn't the most regular woman in the world but its never been away this long. Im feeling really tired and bloated all the time but thats about the only symptoms. Im really dreading doing another test cos if its negative again i'll be gutted. What do you think? x

This must be a really tough time for you. I'm just repeating the advice of others. Go now and buy yourself another pregnancy test, they're not always 100% accurate and this first one may have been wrong. It's happened to me, and I'm 8 months pregnant. The test I took when I would have been about 5 weeks pregnant came back negative. Like yourself I had no 'normal' symptoms of pregnancy, I just felt really tired and run down. It was only after my next period didn't arrive and I took another test that it was confirmed.
If a repeated test comes back negative then pop along to your GP and explain the situation. In the meantime don't worry. Whatever happens you're better off knowing either way.
I hope it all works out for you.

I understand the disappointment of another negative result but it is the only way you are going to find out, tiredness and being bloated can be symptoms and women vary in pregnancy symptoms, stress could also be the reason for absence of periods, do a test and should it be negative don't give in..keep trying it will come when you least expect it really. Very best of good luck to you

There's always a chance you might be! You should really make an appointment with your Doctor just in case . Maybe you will get lucky this time. If not he can help you. I tried one time for a year and finally , went to my Dr. to see what he could do. He told me to take my temperature every morning before getting up .(don't go the bathroom ,don't smoke and don't even have a drink of water or anything) record your temp every morning for two months. I know it hard to keep that same chart, but after that you'll find out when you ovulate when you temperature drops then shoots up the next day. you will also know how many days in which you can get p.g. It worked I know I've had four children . Good Luck!

I would try another pregnancy test at home first, if it is negative i would book into the doctors anyway. My cousin was 6 months pregnant and never got a positive preg test she had to beg the dr for a blood test which then showed she was pregnant! So dont give up hope, best of luck, let us know how u get on.

I would maybe wait another week and try to test again, if its still negative and your period hasn't arrived yet, then I would go and see the doctor. He might do a blood test and see if you are pregnant. Sometimes, the home pregnancy tests, for some reason, don't pick up the pregnancy hormone.

Good luck!

Your worry may be causing your period to be late I would advise you to visit your doctor for a check up to make sure everything is ok.
I had a sister in law that had her period stop and all tests negative even at the doctors so he sent her to see consultant. He did blood tests and also felt her tummy she was really worried when he said he could feel a bulk????????? Anyway turns out she was five months pregnant and it just did not show up in tests only the blood test. She was told it was something to do with the pill. Anyway a big bonnie baby arrived so no problem.
Please go to the doctor for a check up.

There are many reasons for a missed period and no pg. You do need to go to the Dr. If the test came back negative and you took it after the first day of your missed period I betting your not pg. The first two things your Dr should check out is to see if there any Thyroid problems and check for PCOS. The good news is both can be treated very easy.

Maybe you did the test too early. Get one of those special tests that can detect early.

Thing is, and as hard as it seems to say, sometimes when people have trouble conceiveing they convince that they can feel the symptoms.

Maybe it is the worry of trying that has made your cycle stop as this can also happen.

I think you need to be brave and do another test and failing that then go see your doctor.
