Planned Parenthood is your best bet. They will ask you how much you make and base your fee on that. The ring ran me $29/month but I had insurance. You can call your pharmacy and ask them as well.
Speaking of pharmacy I would suggest you go one your mom doesn't use (not just different location, different chain store) b/c if you have the same last name they may accidentally ask her if she's you and then whammo you're going to get a pop quiz.
If you have a tummy and/or your cervix is pointed backwards (both common) you may find the ring to be annoyingly hard to remove. Your provider most likely will give you one to try before you actually shell out $ for one so try it before you fill the prescription. I personally didn't care for the removal process although overall it's a very convenient product. It's a shame the patch has the side effect issues; I thought that was a fabulous option.
I had the same forget to take issue with the pill and bought a case that has an alarm. The batteries last years and it really helped. I'm attaching a link so you can see but this wasn't the company I bought mine from (although mine looks a lot like the one in leopard print at the top). You might want to do some searching for better prices.
Congrats to you for taking responsibility for your life and your body!

You can use her insurance, it wont show on her bill. All she will see is that you went to the gynecologist and had a few tests done. It does not go over everything that was done in the exam, or any prescription that was written (birth control is a prescription). But yes you can go as a self pay, but it will cost you a good penny. When I first got out on my own, I didn't have insurance, and went for birth control. The first visit cost about $300, not including the shot ( which is what I went on). They give you an exam, then do a pap test, ask you a few personal questions (answer honestly, they dont judge), they may send you for a STD test, and they do a pregnancy test-has to be done to go on birth control.

Ok sweety, since it sounds like you don't want your parents to know that you're active and are seeking birth control, here is a good suggestion:
There are Planned Parenthood offices and many low income clinics in every city. You can just call these places and see if they offer the ring. If they do, you can set an appointment and pay a small charge for the medical service. This of course is strictly confidential so your parents will never know unless you tell them. And it is low cost so it won't be that hard for you to pay for it.
Another suggestion since I am a mother of a teenage girl, try talking to your mother about this. Most moms are very understanding of these things and will keep the info from dad. She may even help arrange appointments at Planned Parenthood or your local clinic and help with the cost of the ring. I know I would if my daughter approached me with this. Moms aren't always the enemy and we do know that our girls get to the age when they become sexually active, after all, we were there once ourselves.
Either way, please get yourself protected from unplanned pregnancy and always insist on a condom as well, the more protection, the better.
Signed, a mom who knows.

Go to the health department if you want it to be confidential & it can be free. Just a thought, but if you complain about major cramps each month, the gyno will put you on birth control pills, to help with the cramping....That's how I got on birth control when I was younger while still being on my parents insurance; I said I was cramping very bad, even though I wasn't. The ring is a pain!!

you can pay straight out of pocket. It is between $30 and $50. If you get it from a family planning clinic, it will be much cheaper.
Does your mother's insurance cover the exam? Those can be super expensive if you do not have insurance.

I use the Ring. You dont have to have insurance, you can pay out of pocket. I dont pay for it because my insurance covers it but I believe its about $30 to $35 a month.
I like the Ring. It's hasslefree and you dont have to worry about a pill everyday.

The Ring is available free at any Planned Parenthood (at least in Ca.) If you do not have insurance you can sign up for no cost care at PP The receptionist will help with any questions and the services are confidential.

No, they shouldn't launch any counsel which you do no longer elect them to. in spite of the undeniable fact that, in case you're area of your make certain's insurance and you have chose specific exams or drugs that would desire to have some thing to do with even though you have chose to maintain inner maximum, your dad and mom may be able to parent it out in the event that they're nosy adequate (nonetheless maximum something would be happened as a a habitual technique or a common an infection). yet docs, rather gynecologists, are completely conscious of the would desire to be discreet, they thoroughly comprehend your concerns, and from my adventure, are very sympathetic. a number of the perfect docs.

If you're already on the pill, you may be able to just call your doctor and ask to change from the pill to the ring.
I use it; I get it at Sam's Club for $38 each (cheaper than what my insurance covers, my insurance costs $45 for brand name stuff) There's a coupon on http://www.nuvaring.com for getting your first one free.
