Follow up to my earlier question on MMR effect on sperm - Semen has red blood cells, white blood cells, sperm, and other bodily fluids. Since the MMR Vaccine is in the blood, and semen has that blood, and MMR is a live vaccine, then I expect that it would transfer to my wife through my semen and it would not be good to get pregnant.

Therefore, how long is it LIVE, when can we resume trying? Doctors - please respond with details and explanation. Non-Doctors, please provide pointers to where you get your facts.

Thanks

You should probably wait 3 mos after having the vax before your resume TTC.

I needed the MMR vaccine after giving birth to my daughter. They told me I could not get pregnant for 3 months. Since it stays in a woman's system for that long, I would assume the same would be true for a man, but give your doctor's office a quick call. I'm sure they can answer you right over the phone.
